Pantone™ PMS 299 U

PMS 299 U is a Pantone reference color, not a paint formula. Pantone books are printed standards, and their appearance is affected by paper type and lighting. When PMS 299 U is reproduced as paint, the final look will also be influenced by sheen, film thickness, and the surface it is applied to.

For accurate expectations, compare your Pantone book to a painted sample applied to the actual material you will use. Evaluate the sample under the same lighting conditions where the finished piece will be viewed. This step is especially important for brand approvals and high visibility applications.

Coverage for PMS 299 U spray paint depends on surface texture, application method, and the number of coats. As a general planning guide, one standard spray can is often sufficient for a single medium display panel or similar sized surface per coat.

PMS 299 U is a vivid, saturated color, which can require additional coats to achieve uniform color and hide. Plan extra material if you are working on textured substrates, using a lighter application style, or need consistent color across multiple components.

When using PMS 299 U in pop-ups or retail installations, confirm the color on the actual materials and under installed lighting before full production. Lighting type and intensity can noticeably change how this bright blue is perceived.

Consider the expected wear and duration of the installation when selecting a paint format and clear coat option, if used. For large or permanent environments, producing and approving physical samples helps reduce risk and ensures the final result aligns with brand expectations.

PMS 299 U is available as custom matched spray paint and may also be offered in other paint formats such as paint pens, brush-in-cap bottles, epoxy, urethane, and interior or exterior housepaint, depending on application needs.

Choose spray paint for fast coverage and consistent color on displays and fabricated parts. Smaller formats like paint pens or brush-in-cap bottles are useful for detail work and small components. Select the format based on surface size, material, and the level of control required.

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.
