Color Matching Service with Spectrophotometer by MyPerfectColor

MyPerfectColor specializes in exact match paint color solutions. We have matched thousands of colors for our customers who range from homeowners all the way up to some of the world’s leading brands like Boeing, Tiffanys, Kohler, and the US Navy.

We have a database of over 200,000 colors that have been previously matched, but for those customers who have a unique product, color or material that they need to be converted into the perfect paint color (or who need a sheen/finish matched on a known color), we also offer a variety of Custom Color Matching Services.

In these cases, we will often need you to send us a sample (either a part, chip or other object). Once received, our expert team will match the color and finish of your product to your specifications, and mix and ship the perfectly matched paint directly to you.

The Cost of Quality Color Matching

Custom Color Matching incurs a one-time fee. Once your color is in our database, that color will have its own dedicated web page where you can reorder at any time without sending samples or repaying the matching fee. This fee generally ranges from $75 to $175, but some specialty match situations can cost $400 or more. Note that we generally waive Matching Fees when paint purchases exceed 128 units.

Here’s how we determine the amount of effort required to make your perfect color:

Free Residential and Artist Acrylics Touch Up Specialty Matches
Chose any existing color from our 200,000+ color database, including reorders.1 For matching colors to use with home use water-based paints, or acrylics for use in art. For touch up applications where precision is critical or when acrylic enamel paint is required. When matching unusual colors like metallics, fluorescents, pearlescents, dyes and stains.2

MyPerfectColor matches paint colors from major paint companies and color standards such as Benjamin Moore, Sherwin Williams, Behr Pantone, RAL, Federal Standards, and others.

The available sheens will be based on the standard sheens available in the paint type you would like.

MyPerfectColor will match a paint chip, fabric, tile, or other material that you have supplied, and create that color in one of our Interior or Exterior House Paints in any of the available sheens.

We can recommend the sheen that most closely matches your sample or make the paint in the sheen you prefer.

Our expert team will match the color and finish of your product, equipment or fixtures to your specifications, and provide this perfectly matched paint in whatever type of paint you need, and in whatever size you need.

Some finishes are extraordinarily difficult to match and require extra time and more expensive materials.

Our Specialty Matching Service incorporates the same level of expertise as in our Touch Up Grade Service and includes metallics, fluorescents, pearlescents, dyes and stains.

Cost Drivers in Perfect Color Matching

MyPerfectColor starts with a clear base, free from fillers and other ingredients paint manufacturers commonly load into their products to claim one coat coverage, but which get in the way of matching colors. While these fillers are fine for making more muted colors common in homes, they fall way short for matching brighter, higher chromaticity colors required for brand, logo and product colors.

We use over 100 colorants, pigments and dyes, many of which we crafted specifically for our own needs. Home Depot, Lowes, and your local paint store are designed to make colors for residential use, which requires much less variation. They typically have 10-13 colorants available for all their tinting needs.

We use state-of-the-art spectrophotometers, proprietary matching software, gloss meters, light boxes and expertly trained and experienced eyes. We even require a color vision test as part of our hiring process!

Notes

  1. We are matching the samples we have in our color books which may vary from paint made from a different source. The actual paint color may vary depending on the specific paint product, application method, gloss level, film variance, surface substrate, age and light source.
  2. Keep in mind that for these specialty finishes, an exact match may not be possible, and in these cases we provide our best effort to achieve the best possible result.
  3. We most often need to see your part before providing a specific quote.
  4. You can mail us a part, sample or other object; the color name and/or color number from any paint brand or color reference system such as Pantone®, RAL, Fed Std 595C,Munsell, or NCS; or provide spectral data or L*a*b*/L*C*H* coordinates.
