PMS 203 U is a Pantone Matching System color specified for consistent visual communication across brand and marketing materials. It presents as a warm, energetic red with pink undertones, reading lively, expressive, and attention-forward rather than deep or muted.
The color appears mid-light with an LRV of 51.55 and leans warm in overall tone. It has moderate to high saturation with a clear pink undertone that adds brightness and visual energy.
PMS 203 U works well in brand-facing applications where a vivid but approachable red is needed, such as displays, signage, or fabricated components. Because of its saturation, it may benefit from a light or white primer to support uniform color development, and additional coats can help improve evenness on contrasting or porous surfaces.
Finish and lighting can noticeably influence perceived brightness, so evaluating a sample in the final environment can help confirm expectations before full application.

Ordering PMS 203 U means you are purchasing paint that is custom matched to the Pantone PMS 203 U color target. Pantone PMS is a visual color reference system used to communicate exact brand colors, not a paint formula, coating process, or finish specification.
MyPerfectColor reproduces PMS 203 U as accurately as possible in the selected paint type, but the final appearance can vary based on the substrate, finish, application method, and lighting. The Pantone code defines the color target only, not how the paint is manufactured or how it will look in every environment.
You should always order using the exact Pantone code, in this case PMS 203 U. Pantone color names can be informal or reused across different systems, but the full code including the suffix defines the precise color target.
The "U" indicates the uncoated Pantone reference. Ordering PMS 203 without the correct suffix or series can result in a different color target. To avoid mistakes, confirm the full Pantone code exactly as specified in your brand standards before ordering.
PMS 203 U can be produced in multiple paint formats, but the right choice depends on how and where the paint will be used. Factors like substrate material, exposure conditions, desired finish, and application method all affect performance and appearance.
If you are unsure which paint type is appropriate, contact MyPerfectColor with details about your project. Providing information about the surface, environment, and visual goals allows them to recommend a product that delivers the best brand-accurate result for PMS 203 U.
Expedited production may be available for PMS 203 U when timing is critical. This option is typically presented during checkout, depending on the product format and current production capacity.
If you have a firm deadline, it is recommended to contact MyPerfectColor before ordering to confirm available lead times and whether expedited production will meet your schedule. This helps avoid delays on time-sensitive brand or display projects.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

To make spray paint matched to Pantone PMS 203 U. MyPerfectColor uses an acrylic enamel which is a fast-drying durable coating suitable for interior or exterior use. MyPerfectColor custom spray paint enables you to conveniently achieve a professional spray-smooth finish in any color in any sheen. It sticks well to most surfaces including metal, plastics, powder-coatings, cabinets and primed or previously painted wood.
The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.
While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 203 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
