Pantone™ PMS 202 U

Pantone PMS 202 U is commonly specified as a brand color target for signs, displays, and exhibit components where visual brand accuracy matters. The Pantone code communicates the intended color across designers, fabricators, and vendors, but it does not define the paint formula or finish.

When producing panels, frames, lettering, or branded elements, PMS 202 U should be treated as a visual reference that is matched in the selected paint format and applied to the actual substrate used in the build.

Sampling is recommended for Pantone PMS 202 U when the project is high visibility, requires brand approval, or involves large surface areas. Lighting, substrate, and finish can all affect how this color is perceived once applied.

Ordering a sample allows you to review the color on the actual material and under installed lighting conditions before committing to full production.

Surface texture can noticeably change how Pantone PMS 202 U appears. Smooth surfaces tend to reflect light more evenly, while textured or uneven substrates can create shadowing that makes the color look darker or less saturated.

Because PMS 202 U is a deep, saturated color, these texture effects can be more apparent. Evaluating a sample on the actual surface finish helps set accurate expectations.

For best results with Pantone PMS 202 U, start with a clean surface free of dust, oils, and residues. Degreasing and light scuffing, where appropriate for the substrate, can help promote even coverage and adhesion.

Applying a small test area after preparation is a practical way to confirm appearance and coverage before moving forward with the full application.

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.
