PMS 204 U is a Pantone Matching System color identified as a bright, high-energy pink-red. Within brand and marketing contexts, it conveys vibrancy, attention, and contemporary impact, with a look that is expressive, assertive, and visually engaging.
The color reads as a mid-range value with an LRV of 34.06. It leans warm with a red-dominant character, exhibits high saturation, and shows a pink undertone that can become more noticeable depending on lighting conditions.
PMS 204 U works well in brand-facing displays, signage, and fabricated elements where strong color recognition is required. Due to its saturation, additional coats may be needed for even coverage, and both finish choice and surface preparation can significantly influence the final appearance.
Similar colors: PMS 203 U: slightly darker and more red-forward, with reduced pink clarity.MyPerfectColor is the official licensee of Pantone and authorized to reproduce the Pantone™ PMS 204 U color in spray paint and other paints.

PMS 204 U is a Pantone PMS reference color, so the key decision step is visual approval in the actual environment where it will be seen. Before committing to a full retail pop-up or installation, order a physical sample in the same paint type and finish you plan to use. View that sample under the installed lighting, including any accent or display lighting, since lighting can shift how saturated colors like PMS 204 U appear.
For large or high-visibility brand experiences, confirm coverage and uniformity on the real substrate and at the intended scale. This helps avoid surprises once panels, fixtures, or display elements are installed.
PMS 204 U matched paint can be applied to many plastics, but plastics vary widely in surface energy and adhesion behavior. Some materials require a specific plastic primer or adhesion-promoting step before painting. There is no single approach that works for all plastics.
Before production, test PMS 204 U on the actual plastic you plan to use, with the full coating system including any primer. This confirms adhesion, appearance, and durability and helps you decide if additional surface preparation is needed.
Yes. Surface texture affects how PMS 204 U is perceived. Smooth surfaces reflect light more evenly, which can make the color appear cleaner and more saturated. Textured or uneven surfaces create shadows and diffuse reflection, which can make the same color look darker or less vivid.
If brand accuracy is critical, evaluate PMS 204 U on the exact surface texture and finish you plan to use. This is especially important when the color will be compared directly to printed Pantone references or other brand elements.
Paint matched to PMS 204 U is made to order. Production lead time depends on the product format selected, current production volume, and order size. Spray paint, liquid paint, and specialty coatings may have different timelines.
If you are working toward a fixed marketing or installation date, place your order early and allow time for sampling and approval. This helps ensure the color and finish meet expectations before final production.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

To make spray paint matched to Pantone PMS 204 U. MyPerfectColor uses an acrylic enamel which is a fast-drying durable coating suitable for interior or exterior use. MyPerfectColor custom spray paint enables you to conveniently achieve a professional spray-smooth finish in any color in any sheen. It sticks well to most surfaces including metal, plastics, powder-coatings, cabinets and primed or previously painted wood.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 204 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
