PMS 7698 C is part of the Pantone Matching System (PMS) collection, a standardized system used for precise color specification in brand, marketing, and display work. This color is characterized by a subdued, slightly cool blue-green appearance. Its vibe can be described as restrained, corporate, contemporary, versatile, and technical.

PMS 7698 C appears relatively dark, with a low light reflectance value (LRV) of 15.54. The color is cool-toned, leaning toward blue with a muted teal character. The saturation level is moderate to low, resulting in a more understated and less vivid look than highly chromatic colors. PMS 7698 C shows muted blue-green undertones and is not prone to strong brightness shifts under varying finishes. The color typically maintains its professional appearance across both matte and gloss finishes, but gloss can introduce stronger visual contrast.

PMS 7698 C works well in branding, signage, exhibits, and environments where a professional, understated blue-green is specified. It performs reliably in settings with controlled lighting, but may appear darker in low-light situations due to its low LRV. Surface preparation and finish selection should consider this color’s muted saturation, as uneven application or high-gloss finishes can emphasize surface irregularities. Compared to brighter or cleaner blues, PMS 7698 C reads deeper and more sophisticated, with reduced risk of appearing overly saturated in corporate contexts.

Similar colors:
PMS 7699 C – Slightly darker and more intense, producing a deeper blue-green appearance.

PMS 7697 C – Lighter and less saturated, giving a more subdued teal effect.

PMS 7700 C – More chromatic and vibrant, presenting a cleaner, brighter blue note.

PMS 5483 C – Cooler and more muted, leaning closer to a blue-gray variant.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 7698 C

Can I use an equivalent color from another paint brand instead of PMS 7698 C for brand projects?

No, PMS 7698 C is a Pantone standardized color and does not have an exact match in other paint brand collections. Most paint companies use their own unique palettes, so cross-referencing is rarely exact. For brand consistency and accurate color representation, it is best to order paint matched specifically to PMS 7698 C rather than attempting to use an alternative from a different brand.

How does the finish affect the appearance of PMS 7698 C paint in real-world use?

The finish or sheen selected for PMS 7698 C can change how the color is perceived. Gloss finishes typically make the color appear more vivid and can highlight surface irregularities, while matte finishes create a softer look and may subdue the color slightly. Satin finishes offer a balance between matte and gloss. Always consider the final viewing conditions and substrate when choosing a finish to achieve the intended brand appearance with PMS 7698 C.

What factors affect shipping and transit time for PMS 7698 C paint orders?

Transit time for PMS 7698 C matched paint depends on several factors, including your shipping address and the selected shipping method during checkout. Custom mixed colors like PMS 7698 C may require production time before shipping. If your project has firm deadlines, plan ahead and consider potential shipping delays due to location, chosen service level, and seasonal demand.

Where can I find the SDS for paint made in PMS 7698 C?

The Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for paint matched to PMS 7698 C is determined by the specific paint product or type, not the Pantone color itself. To find the correct SDS, locate it in the SDS library linked from the selected product page. If you need assistance, contact customer service with your product details.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 7698 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 7698 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. We do our best to make sure you get your paint on time. Learn more about paint lead times at MyPerfectColor.
Can I use the Pantone PMS 7698 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

How do I convert PMS 7698 C to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 7698 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information.
