PMS 5483 C from the Pantone PMS system is a subdued blue-green with a distinctly cool presence and understated, balanced vibe. It appears calm, technical, and refined, making it suitable in visual identities seeking clarity and professionalism. The chroma level and hue are optimized for consistency across branded material, supporting effective color reproduction for marketing and display applications.

PMS 5483 C appears medium in lightness, with an LRV of 22.93 indicating a discernible but not overly dark value.

The color has a cool tendency, displaying a blend of blue and green that leans more toward blue.

PMS 5483 C exhibits moderate chroma, resulting in a controlled, desaturated look rather than vivid saturation.

The undertone is distinctly cool, with blue-green qualities that resist any visible warmth or yellowing.

Variations in finish can subtly impact the visual depth and perceived saturation; glossier finishes may slightly heighten apparent brightness.

PMS 5483 C works well in applications requiring a cool, muted tone that communicates stability and modernity—such as in branded displays, walls, fixtures, and sign backgrounds where visual clarity is important. Evaluate under the intended lighting conditions, as changes in illumination can shift the perceived balance between blue and green. This color distinguishes itself from similar options by maintaining a less saturated and more understated appearance, helping to avoid overt brightness or color cast changes across different surfaces and finishes.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 5483 C

How does the finish or sheen affect the appearance of Pantone PMS 5483 C in marketing displays or branded environments?

The finish selected for PMS 5483 C can noticeably change how the color is perceived in real-world settings. Glossier finishes tend to make PMS 5483 C look slightly brighter and may enhance its apparent depth, while matte finishes appear more subdued and can reduce both brightness and saturation. Satin finishes offer a middle ground. It is important to specify and review the finish to ensure that PMS 5483 C meets your brand's intended appearance, especially when matching to a Pantone guide or reference sample.

Can I request expedited production for Pantone PMS 5483 C if I have a tight marketing deadline?

Yes, expedited production for PMS 5483 C is available as an option at checkout. What are the best practices for approving or comparing Pantone PMS 5483 C paint samples for a branded display?

For accurate evaluation of PMS 5483 C, always compare samples under consistent lighting that matches the installed environment, and use the same type of substrate for each sample. Reviewing under the intended lighting and on the intended material will help ensure that the sampled PMS 5483 C aligns with your brand standard and expectations.

What should I consider when applying Pantone PMS 5483 C paint to plastic or low energy surfaces?

When using PMS 5483 C on plastics or low surface energy materials, keep in mind that adhesion can vary significantly by plastic type. Some plastics may require specific primers or surface preparation for the best results. Always test PMS 5483 C on the actual plastic substrate before moving forward with production, and consult with MyPerfectColor if you need further guidance on compatible primers or products for your application.

Can I use the Pantone PMS 5483 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
