PMS 7620 C is a Pantone Matching System (PMS) color, recognized for its bold and assertive visual presence. It registers as a deep, saturated red with a warm, commanding vibe, often described as strong, energetic, and direct. The color’s low light reflectance value (LRV 12.45) contributes to its perceived depth and vividness, supporting applications that demand attention and consistency in branded environments. It is widely used in marketing and promotional scenarios where accurate brand color reproduction is operationally critical.
PMS 7620 C presents as a deep, saturated red with significant visual strength. The color shows low light reflectance (LRV 12.45), indicating a dark value relative to most reds. The hue is warm, skewing towards an orange-red territory. Saturation is high, yielding a vibrant and assertive finish. It tends to display a subtle orange undertone in full lighting and can intensify under direct, warm lights. PMS 7620 C is moderately sensitive to finish; gloss and semi-gloss may heighten perceived saturation, while matte finishes can mute its vibrancy.
PMS 7620 C is selected when a brand or marketing program requires a forceful and memorable red that stands out in physical and digital environments. Evaluate this color under the intended lighting conditions and finish, as both can alter its depth and perceived hue—matte finishes subdue the intensity, while glossier options may make it appear even richer. Color accuracy should be checked using both a physical PMS reference and a sample in the application context, given the coverage and hide considerations typical for highly saturated reds. PMS 7620 C generally appears warmer and visually denser than other reds of similar chroma.

When using Pantone PMS 7620 C for prototypes or concept models, start by selecting a product format that fits your process, such as spray paint or paint pens. For best results, compare samples against a physical PMS guide and assess the color under lighting similar to the final environment. Because PMS 7620 C is highly saturated, plan for multiple coats to achieve uniform coverage and evaluate finish options to reflect your intended brand impact. This helps ensure your prototype represents the brand standard as closely as possible before scaling to final production.
For Pantone PMS 7620 C, apply several thin coats instead of one heavy layer when using spray paint. Allow each coat to become touch dry before adding the next to help prevent runs and uneven color. This approach not only improves coverage with highly saturated colors like PMS 7620 C, but also maximizes consistency and vibrancy for brand displays and models. Be aware that deeper reds may need extra coats for full hide, especially over light or contrasting substrates.
Pantone PMS 7620 C can appear different depending on lighting type and intensity. The color may look warmer or cooler, brighter or more subdued under various lights like daylight, fluorescent, or LED. Always review painted samples of PMS 7620 C in the actual conditions where the branded item or display will be used to avoid surprises in perceived color. This helps confirm that your project meets brand standards and appears as intended to viewers.
When specifying Pantone PMS 7620 C for a project, choose a paint type suited to the installation environment. For indoor branding, options like interior spray paint, acrylic, or paint pens are appropriate for displays and fabricated items. For outdoor or high-traffic settings, select an exterior-rated paint to withstand weather and exposure. Confirm that your chosen product format aligns with your project needs to support color durability and brand integrity in either context.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
