PMS 3115 C is part of the Pantone PMS (Pantone Matching System) collection. This color is defined by a distinctly cool, aquatic blue hue with high chroma and a light visual quality, offering a crisp and contemporary effect. The overall vibe is clean, energetic, technical, modern, and attention-grabbing without being harsh.

PMS 3115 C appears distinctly light in value, with LRV 43.66 providing moderate reflectance suited for visual prominence. The color reads cool, with a cyan-blue hue and no visible yellow or red undertones. This color exhibits high saturation, presenting a vivid, bright appearance rather than muted or neutral. Undertones are clean and direct, with a clear blue-green base noticeable under most lighting. The color can be finish-sensitive; glossier sheens will amplify vibrancy, while matte finishes may slightly soften its intensity.

PMS 3115 C is often chosen for projects that require distinct visual contrast on displays or branded environments where a clean, modern cyan is needed. The color is frequently referenced in branding and identity applications where a light blue with strong saturation communicates clarity and freshness.

PMS 3115 C works well in environments desiring a bold but approachable statement, especially in retail, event, and marketing installations. It is important to consider lighting, as cool artificial or daylight sources maintain its crispness, while warm lighting can subtly mute the blue note. Glossy finishes will increase the color’s vividness; matte finishes can make it appear slightly less bright. Compared to similar cyans, it holds a stronger chromatic presence and may require surface preparation for uniform hide, particularly over contrasting substrates.

Similar colors:
PMS 310 C is slightly lighter and less chromatic, appearing somewhat softer in overall effect.

PMS 312 C is marginally darker and deeper, with increased blue saturation and less visual airiness.

PMS 306 C is cooler in tone with less green influence, resulting in a more purely blue cyan.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 3115 C

How should I specify PMS 3115 C by Pantone when ordering to ensure I get the right color?

When ordering PMS 3115 C, always use the full Pantone code, including the suffix 'C' which indicates the coated series. Do not order based on the color name or general description alone, as Pantone codes precisely define the brand color target needed for consistent results. Double check your documentation and project specifications for any additional details to ensure you are referencing the correct Pantone PMS code and series for PMS 3115 C.

What area can I expect a spray can of PMS 3115 C paint to cover, and how do I plan quantity for my project?

One spray can of PMS 3115 C typically covers about 20 to 25 square feet per coat on smooth, non-porous surfaces. However, actual coverage will depend on the texture and color of your substrate, the number of coats needed for uniform appearance, and your application technique. PMS 3115 C is a light, highly saturated color, so for darker or contrasting surfaces, additional coats may be needed to achieve full opacity. Always plan for extra material to allow for test panels and any surface preparation requirements.

Why is PMS 3115 C a common standard for sign, display, and exhibit fabrication, and how should I verify the match?

PMS 3115 C is frequently specified as a brand standard for sign, display, and exhibit elements where visual consistency and strong brand impact are needed. If you are fabricating components or displays, matching the Pantone PMS 3115 C reference ensures alignment with the intended brand standard. It is best practice to test the paint on your actual substrate and under your installed lighting conditions, as surface type and illumination can meaningfully affect the perceived color.

What application method will produce the best results when using PMS 3115 C spray paint?

For the most uniform and vibrant finish with PMS 3115 C spray paint, apply several light coats rather than one heavy layer. Allow sufficient drying time between coats to avoid runs or uneven results. This process is especially important for saturated colors like PMS 3115 C, as lighter colors may require more coats to achieve full coverage and brand consistency on a range of substrates.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 3115 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 3115 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. Can I use the Pantone PMS 3115 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

How do I convert PMS 3115 C to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 3115 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
