Pantone™ PMS 3005 C

The appearance of Pantone PMS 3005 C can shift depending on the lighting and viewing conditions. This blue may look deeper or brighter under daylight, while under typical indoor lighting or LED sources, it could appear less saturated or slightly altered. For brand consistency, always evaluate PMS 3005 C in the specific lighting where your project will be displayed. This helps ensure the color aligns with brand expectations and reduces surprises caused by metamerism.

One standard spray can of Pantone PMS 3005 C typically covers about 20 to 25 square feet per coat on smooth, primed surfaces. Because PMS 3005 C is a saturated blue with relatively low reflectance, additional coats may be needed for true uniformity or over dark substrates. Textured, unprimed, or absorbent surfaces will lower actual coverage. For best results, estimate total project square footage, consider the number of required coats, and allow extra for surface type and complexity.

Pantone PMS 3005 C is a color standard, not a finish or material specification. Pantone codes do not define the original coatings'' sheen, texture, or application method, so using PMS 3005 C as a touch-up color on existing surfaces often leads to visible mismatches. For maintenance or repair, matching should be based on the actual finish and original process, not only on the Pantone reference.

PMS 3005 C is available in a variety of formats tailored to brand and marketing uses. Options include custom spray paint, paint pens, brush-in-cap bottles, and select liquid coatings. Choose spray paint for displays and signage with wide coverage needs, paint pens or brush-in-cap bottles for fine detail or small components, and specialty liquids for specific substrate or finish needs. Selecting the format based on your application ensures both color accuracy and ease of use for your project.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
