PMS 1785 C is part of the Pantone PMS (Pantone Matching System) collection. This color is recognized for its bright, saturated, and energetic appearance, making it visually assertive without being overly dark. Its vibe is described as bold, lively, vivid, and dynamic, with a modern character commonly suited to marketing, display, and brand-centric environments where attention and color accuracy are priorities.

PMS 1785 C appears as a strong, deep reddish pink with substantial color presence. The color has a comparatively low to moderate lightness (LRV 25.96), making it distinctly vivid rather than pastel. This color trends slightly warm due to its red orientation, with an evident orange undertone. PMS 1785 C is highly saturated, resulting in strong visual impact. The undertone is bright and clean, without muted or earthy influence. Finish and lighting have a significant impact on perceived vibrancy and brightness; gloss will intensify saturation.

PMS 1785 C performs well in environments where noticeable, consistent brand colors are required, such as branded displays, retail activations, and prototypes. It is visually striking under both natural and artificial lighting but may appear bolder in glossy finishes. When specifying this color, be aware that its high saturation can challenge coverage on light or dark substrates, often requiring proper priming and multiple coats for opacity and true color. Compared to other similar hues, PMS 1785 C maintains a distinctly warmer, more orange-red emphasis and stands out against more magenta-leaning colors in the same intensity range.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 1785 C

How should I specify PMS 1785 C for a prototype or concept model to ensure accurate brand alignment?

When using PMS 1785 C in prototypes or concept models, reference the exact Pantone code to communicate your color target. Choose a product format such as spray paint, paint pen, or brush-in-cap bottle based on your surface and workflow. For best results, evaluate the color under intended lighting conditions. Note that the high saturation of PMS 1785 C may require multiple coats for full coverage, especially on light or dark substrates. Always review a sample before executing final models to confirm brand appearance.

What formats are available if I need PMS 1785 C paint for a display or marketing project?

PMS 1785 C is available as custom spray paint, paint pens, brush-in-cap bottles, and other selected paint formats. Spray paint is often chosen for larger surfaces or displays. Paint pens and brush-in-cap bottles are useful for detail work and small runs. When selecting, consider your application method and project scale. For brand-focused work, confirm that the format provides the coverage and vibrancy you require, as highly saturated colors like PMS 1785 C can demand extra coats for best results.

Why is it important that PMS 1785 C paint is licensed and authorized when buying for branding purposes?

PMS 1785 C is part of the Pantone Matching System, a licensed standard for brand colors. Choosing authorized reproduction ensures you receive paint matched to the precise reference color, which is critical for marketing or branding displays. Unauthorized products may not achieve the required brand accuracy, especially for saturated colors. MyPerfectColor is authorized to reproduce Pantone PMS colors to help you meet professional specifications and brand standards.

Can I use the Pantone PMS 1785 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
