PMS 1787 C, from the Pantone PMS (Pantone Matching System) collection, is characterized by its bold, energetic presence with a distinctly warm, high-chroma profile. This color is visually assertive, contemporary, and commonly applied in contexts requiring strong brand differentiation and high viewer engagement.

- PMS 1787 C appears as a strong, medium-to-dark red-orange. - The color has a warm tendency, with noticeable orange undertones. - This color is highly saturated and chromatic, delivering maximum visual intensity. - Undertones lean toward orange, which can become more pronounced in bright or natural light. - LRV is 25.96, which places it in the lower-mid range for reflectance, making it visually prominent without being extremely dark. - The appearance is sensitive to finish selection; gloss tends to amplify vibrancy and light reflection, while matte may subdue its chromatic intensity.

PMS 1787 C performs effectively as a feature or brand color in environments where energy, visual intensity, and brand presence are priorities. It should be evaluated in the intended finish and lighting, as high-chroma shades can shift in brightness or perceived warmth under different conditions. This color typically requires attentive application and inspection on-site, especially on large or multi-material surfaces, due to its saturated nature and the impact of sheen on perceived vibrancy. Additional coats may be needed to reach uniform coverage, especially over light substrates.

Similar colors:
PMS 1795 C is similar but slightly deeper and darker, offering a more muted visual impact.

PMS 1788 C is comparably chromatic but leans more towards red and is marginally lighter.

PMS 1655 C is warmer, containing stronger orange tones and appearing more vivid, especially in high-gloss applications.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 1787 C

What should I expect when ordering PMS 1787 C paint regarding color matching accuracy?

PMS 1787 C is a bright, saturated red-orange in the Pantone PMS system. Because of its visual intensity and high chroma, achieving a precise match can be more challenging than with less saturated colors. MyPerfectColor specializes in matching Pantone colors for branding and marketing, but factors like substrate, finish, and lighting can influence final appearance. If you require visual brand alignment, specify your project details and evaluate a sample when appearance is critical, particularly for large installations or formal brand approvals.

How can I get help choosing the best paint type for PMS 1787 C?

To select the right paint type for PMS 1787 C, contact MyPerfectColor with details about your substrate, whether the project is indoors or outdoors, and your desired finish, such as matte or gloss. Our team can recommend the best format, such as spray paint or custom mixed paint, to help achieve your brand or display objectives.

Why might PMS 1787 C look different on metal, plastic, or wood?

The appearance of PMS 1787 C can vary between materials due to differences in texture, reflectivity, and paint absorption. For example, gloss levels tend to heighten vibrancy on smooth metals, while matte finishes on porous surfaces may slightly mute the color. For brand consistency, always evaluate a sample of PMS 1787 C on the actual substrate and in the final lighting before full scale production or installation.

What basic surface preparation is recommended before applying PMS 1787 C paint?

To achieve the best appearance, make sure the application surface for PMS 1787 C is clean, dry, and free of dust, oils, or grease. Where appropriate, lightly scuff glossy surfaces to improve paint adhesion. Always test a small area with PMS 1787 C paint before proceeding with the full project, especially when uniformity and vivid color are priorities.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 1787 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 1787 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. We do our best to make sure you get your paint on time. Learn more about paint lead times at MyPerfectColor.
Can I use the Pantone PMS 1787 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

How do I convert PMS 1787 C to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 1787 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information.
