PMS 169 C is part of the Pantone Matching System (PMS) collection, widely recognized in marketing, display fabrication, and industrial design contexts. The color presents a light, slightly warm pink character, coming across as soft, approachable, clean, and inviting. Its vibe tends to be gentle, modern, and suitable for approachable or human-centric branding.

PMS 169 C appears light in value (LRV 58.47), supporting a bright but not stark presentation. The color exhibits a clear warm tendency, with its slight orange undertone shifting it away from cooler pinks. PMS 169 C has moderate chroma, resulting in noticeable but not intense saturation. The undertone is soft and peach-like, contributing to its inviting quality. The color is generally stable across matte and satin finishes but may present differently in high-gloss surfaces due to light scattering.

PMS 169 C works well where a light, welcoming pink is needed for visual branding or identity work. It performs best in settings with good, neutral lighting to maintain its warmth and clarity. In spaces with strong yellow or cool blue lighting, its undertone may shift, so pre-testing in the final environment is recommended. This color offers a gentler alternative to more saturated corals and avoids the sharpness of pure whites, providing subtle emphasis without overwhelming nearby colors.

Similar colors:
PMS 1625 C: Slightly lighter and less saturated, for a more pastel effect.

PMS 170 C: A touch darker and more vivid, offering greater visual impact.

PMS 487 C: Cooler and more muted, for less warmth and a more taupe appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 169 C

How can I ensure consistent results when reordering Pantone PMS 169 C paint for future marketing or display projects?

To achieve consistent results when reordering Pantone PMS 169 C paint, always use the same paint product type and sheen as your approved sample or previous order. Matching the product format, such as spray paint or a specific finish, is critical since the color can appear different depending on sheen. Always reference the same approval standard or target sample during each order to help maintain brand accuracy across production runs. Using a consistent substrate and application process further reduces the chance of visible differences.

When should I order a sample of PMS 169 C before starting a large installation or brand project?

It is recommended to order a sample of PMS 169 C before full production when you have high-visibility brand projects, large installations, or strict brand approval workflows. Sampling is also important if the finished product will be exposed to unique lighting conditions or applied to substrates such as metal, plastic, or wood, which may affect the appearance. Testing a sample lets you confirm color accuracy and appearance in the actual environment, minimizing the risk of costly errors or rework.

Why might PMS 169 C look different under various lighting conditions?

PMS 169 C, like all Pantone colors, may shift in appearance depending on the lighting environment. This is because different light sources, such as fluorescent, LED, or daylight, can emphasize the color's undertones and alter its warmth or brightness. To ensure PMS 169 C matches your visual brand intent, always evaluate samples in the same lighting where your finished installation will be viewed. This is especially important for brand settings where accurate color display is critical.

What should I consider when applying Pantone PMS 169 C paint to plastic or low-energy surfaces?

When using PMS 169 C on plastics or other low-energy surfaces, adhesion can be a challenge. Plastics often require specific primers or surface treatment to allow proper paint bonding. Before full production, always test PMS 169 C on the actual plastic being used to verify coverage and appearance. This approach helps you avoid surprises during the primary rollout and ensures the color meets both visual and performance expectations for your branding application.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 169 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 169 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. We do our best to make sure you get your paint on time. Learn more about paint lead times at MyPerfectColor.
Can I use the Pantone PMS 169 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

How do I convert PMS 169 C to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 169 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information.
