PMS 1565 C is part of the Pantone Matching System (PMS) collection, a widely used global standard for brand and environmental specification. This color presents as a distinct, moderately saturated orange with a notable warmth and clarity suitable for energetic, inviting visual applications. Its vibe is vibrant, modern, active, and clean, with enough softness to avoid harshness while maintaining clear visibility.

PMS 1565 C has a mid-range lightness, offering visibility without overpowering brightness (LRV approximately 53). The color displays a warm tendency, with a yellow-orange base and no pronounced coolness. It exhibits a clear, moderately strong saturation, providing presence without maximum chroma intensity. The undertone leans toward yellow, lending the orange a sunny or subtly golden quality rather than a red-orange or coral aspect. The color may appear slightly lighter or softer in matte finishes and more vivid in glossy applications.

PMS 1565 C works well in marketing, signage, retail, and exhibit environments that require a vibrant, inviting accent color. It maintains clarity on both light and dark substrates, but as with many saturated oranges, application over highly contrasting surfaces can result in uneven coverage, so an appropriate base coat is recommended. Color perception can shift in cool or low lighting, sometimes appearing muted; evaluate final appearance in intended display conditions and finishes. Compared to similar oranges, PMS 1565 C is less intense than highly saturated orange hues but warmer and more vivid than most peach or tan shades.

Similar colors:
PMS 151 C – A similar but more chromatic and darker orange; appears stronger and more saturated.

PMS 1375 C – Slightly lighter and more yellow-toned, giving a brighter appearance.

PMS 1625 C – Lighter and less saturated, reading as softer, more pastel than PMS 1565 C.

PMS 1575 C – Similar lightness but with a less pronounced yellow undertone, making it a bit more muted.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 1565 C

Why should I order Pantone PMS 1565 C paint from a licensed and authorized source?

Pantone PMS 1565 C is a licensed color standard, and authorized reproduction ensures your order is based on official Pantone specifications. MyPerfectColor is authorized to reproduce Pantone PMS colors in paint, so you receive a product that is intended to match the genuine PMS 1565 C swatch. Ordering from an authorized supplier helps you stay compliant with brand guidelines, reduces risk of inaccurate color, and supports color consistency across multiple vendors and materials.

How should I use a sample of PMS 1565 C paint in my brand approval workflow?

For PMS 1565 C, it is best practice to order a small paint sample for review and approval before committing to a full production run. Apply the sample on the actual substrate and evaluate it under the installed lighting where the final product will be displayed. This step helps your team confirm that the color and finish meet your brand expectations and avoids costly errors in large-scale projects.

Will Pantone PMS 1565 C appear different in matte vs gloss finishes?

Yes, PMS 1565 C may look different depending on the finish you select. Glossy finishes generally appear richer and more saturated, while matte finishes can make the color seem lighter or softer. Even when the paint target is the same PMS 1565 C, sheen changes can lead to visible differences, so always evaluate samples in the finish you intend to use for your brand or display application.

What is the best way to achieve uniform coverage with PMS 1565 C, given its vivid orange color?

PMS 1565 C is a moderately saturated, warm orange and may require thoughtful application to achieve full, uniform coverage. For best results, plan to use an appropriate undercoat, especially when applying over high-contrast or dark surfaces. Multiple coats may be needed for complete hide. Testing your process on a sample substrate can help you determine the right preparation steps for your project.

Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. Can I use the Pantone PMS 1565 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
