PMS 151 C is a Pantone PMS color known for its bold, bright orange presentation and is purpose-built for branding, display, and communication applications where visibility is crucial. The system designation ensures consistent reproduction across materials. The color is energetic, attention-getting, technical, assertive, and unmistakable.
PMS 151 C appears moderately bright, with a lightness value reflected in its LRV of 35.32. The color trends distinctly warm, owing to its prominent yellow-orange hue. It exhibits strong saturation, which contributes to its intensity and clear chromatic presence. This color has a pronounced orange undertone with subtle yellow influences, producing a vibrant effect. PMS 151 C’s vividness can be sensitive to finish and lighting, with glossy or high-sheen finishes intensifying its visibility.
PMS 151 C is frequently associated with brand communications requiring maximum visibility, such as safety messaging, high-impact graphics, and fast-moving consumer branding. The color is widely cited in signage systems and display graphics for brands seeking energetic, unmistakable presence.
PMS 151 C works well when strong, immediate attention is needed, especially in environments where safety, energy, or high brand recognition are priorities. Users should account for its saturation, as coverage may require additional coats—particularly on light or highly absorbent substrates. Lighting and finish can shift perceived vibrancy and brightness, so evaluate samples in situ and in the intended finish. Among similar oranges, PMS 151 C stands out for its clarity and intensity, but can appear bolder or more fluorescent under certain lighting compared to more muted or red-influenced oranges.
This Pantone PMS color is defined by the Pantone Matching System standard. Evaluate the color using a physical Pantone reference and a real paint sample in the intended lighting and finish. Paint appearance varies by finish and lighting.

To keep results consistent when reordering PMS 151 C paint, always use the same product type, sheen, and substrate as your original order. Differences in finish, format, or substrate can cause visible shifts in appearance, especially for saturated colors like PMS 151 C. Use the same Pantone reference (such as a physical color chip or accepted standard sample) for color approval each time. Evaluate finished samples in the intended lighting and environment before approving for production. Following these steps reduces the risk of perceptual variation between batches.
Before a large build, order a sample of PMS 151 C in the intended paint type and sheen and apply it to the actual substrate you will use. Evaluate the sample in the real environment and lighting conditions of your project, as finish and light can shift the look of vivid colors like PMS 151 C. Get formal brand signoff on the sample before proceeding with a full order. This approach helps ensure accuracy and avoids project delays or costly rework due to unexpected color variation.
Pantone PMS 151 C is a proprietary standard from the Pantone Matching System, and most paint brands have their own unique color palettes. There is rarely an exact equivalent for vivid colors like PMS 151 C in other paint collections. Cross-referencing is not reliable for maintaining strict brand consistency, so always specify PMS 151 C by its Pantone code and use a physical color reference or approved sample to guide production.
The Safety Data Sheet for PMS 151 C paint is determined by the specific paint product or format you select, not by the color code itself. To access the correct SDS, choose the paint type you plan to order and visit the SDS library on the product page or request the SDS for that product. The SDS will identify any safety, handling, and compliance details relevant to your paint selection.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
