PMS 134 C is part of the Pantone Matching System (PMS), widely used for brand identity and display applications where accurate color reproduction is essential. It presents as a bright, inviting yellow with conspicuous warmth, a high level of vibrancy, and a generally cheerful effect. The color’s vibe is bright, energetic, welcoming, approachable, and visually prominent.

PMS 134 C is a light color, with a numeric LRV of 70.01 indicating high reflectivity. The color has a notably warm tendency, with a distinctly yellow undertone. PMS 134 C exhibits moderate to high saturation, making it visually vivid and attention-grabbing. The undertone is overtly yellow, without pronounced green or orange influence. The color’s apparent brightness can shift depending on finish, with gloss or satin finishes enhancing vibrancy and matte finishes introducing slight softness.

PMS 134 C is often specified for signage, display components, and branded environments seeking a clear, energetic yellow identity. The color may be used for product packaging or retail fixtures where a welcoming and noticeable yellow is desired.

PMS 134 C works well where a bright, warm yellow is needed for strong visual presence in marketing, display, or branded applications. It is sensitive to changes in lighting and finish—cool lighting can make the color appear less vivid, while warm lighting intensifies its yellow quality. The color’s vibrancy may necessitate additional coats for uniform coverage, especially over darker substrates. When matching or comparing to similar colors, PMS 134 C is notably lighter and warmer than many standard yellows, and it avoids greenish undertones found in some alternatives. Always confirm appearance under intended lighting and with the selected finish.

Similar colors:

PMS 120 C: Lighter and less saturated, presenting as a more subdued yellow.

PMS 136 C: Deeper and more orange, with a warmer, richer tone than PMS 134 C.

PMS 114 C: Slightly lighter and cooler, with a subtle decrease in chromatic intensity.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 134 C

How do different finishes and sheen levels affect the appearance of Pantone PMS 134 C in branding or display use?

The finish you choose for Pantone PMS 134 C can noticeably change how the color looks in real-world branding or display projects. Gloss or satin finishes will make PMS 134 C look brighter and more vibrant, emphasizing its energetic yellow quality. Matte finishes will soften the appearance, making the yellow seem slightly less intense and a bit more subdued. Lighting conditions further influence this effect. Always confirm the appearance of PMS 134 C with the actual finish you plan to use and test in the intended lighting before full production.

What is the typical lead time to receive custom paint matched to Pantone PMS 134 C?

Paint products matched to Pantone PMS 134 C are made to order. Most standard products such as spray paint, paint pens, and brush-in-cap bottles are mixed after you place your order. Production lead times can vary based on product type and workload. For the best planning, order well before you need the paint and review the estimated lead time shown during checkout. Allow extra time if ordering larger quantities or specialty coatings.

How can I ensure color consistency for repeat orders of PMS 134 C paint over time?

To keep your Pantone PMS 134 C color consistent across multiple orders, use the same product type, sheen, and substrate whenever possible. Always reference the same Pantone target and approval method for each run. Be aware that minor batch-to-batch variation can occur in any custom paint. Testing a production sample for approval, especially when consistency is critical for brand or display projects, is recommended.

What paint formats are available for Pantone PMS 134 C and how do I choose the right one for my application?

Pantone PMS 134 C is available as custom spray paint, paint pens, brush-in-cap bottles, and other paint and coating formats suited to marketing, prototyping, and display needs. Choose spray paint for fast, uniform coverage on larger surfaces, paint pens or brush-in-cap bottles for detailed or small-scale work, and specialty coatings where needed for unique requirements. Always select the format that matches your surface, application process, and desired visual effect.

Can I use the Pantone PMS 134 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
