PMS 9302 U is a Pantone PMS color specified as a standardized visual reference for brand and marketing applications. It presents as light, warm, moderately saturated, approachable, and clean, with a softened red character that reads open rather than heavy.
The color reads as relatively light, with an LRV of 64.08. It shows a warm red tendency rather than a cool or bluish cast, with moderate saturation that remains clear without becoming vivid.
This color works well in brand-facing environments where a red presence is needed without strong visual weight, such as displays, panels, or dimensional elements. Lighter reds can be sensitive to surface contrast, so consistent priming and even application help maintain uniform appearance.
As with many lighter warm hues, perceived depth can shift under cool lighting or high-gloss finishes, making sample evaluation important.
Similar colors:
PMS 1767 U: slightly lighter and softer, with less visible red strength.
PMS 1775 U: deeper and more saturated, with stronger visual impact.
PMS 1788 U: darker and more intense, with increased chroma and weight.

PMS 9302 U is a Pantone reference color, not a paint formula. Pantone books are printed standards viewed under specific lighting on paper. When PMS 9302 U is produced as paint, differences can appear due to sheen, substrate, film thickness, and lighting.
Expect the closest visual alignment when you compare a painted sample of PMS 9302 U to the Pantone book under neutral lighting and at a similar viewing angle. For brand-critical projects, order a sample and evaluate it on the actual material and finish before committing to full production.
When PMS 9302 U is applied across large surfaces, uniform appearance depends on consistent technique. Plan for even film build, steady application speed, and overlap patterns that avoid striping or patchiness.
Saturated Pantone colors like PMS 9302 U may require additional coats to achieve even hide. Test coverage on a representative panel, confirm the number of coats needed, and keep application conditions consistent across the entire area.
The U in PMS 9302 U indicates the Pantone reference series. Pantone codes can exist in different series, and the suffix helps define the intended visual target.
Before ordering, confirm that PMS 9302 U is the exact reference specified in your brand guidelines or project documentation. Verifying the full code reduces the risk of ordering a color that is close but not aligned with the approved standard.
Sheen has a direct impact on how PMS 9302 U is perceived. Higher sheen finishes typically appear brighter and more saturated, while lower sheen finishes can look softer or slightly muted.
Select sheen based on viewing distance, lighting, and substrate. If brand approval is required, evaluate PMS 9302 U in the exact sheen and material that will be used in the final application, rather than relying on a single reference sample.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

It sticks well to most surfaces including metal, plastics, powder-coatings, cabinets and primed or previously painted wood.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 9302 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
