PMS 1775 U is a Pantone PMS color specified as a saturated red with a noticeable coral warmth, commonly selected for brand-forward applications that need immediate visual impact. The color conveys energy, approachability, and emphasis, with a lively character that reads clearly across display and marketing environments.

The color presents as a mid-light red with an LRV of 40.76 and reads distinctly warm rather than blue-based. Its high saturation creates strong chroma and visual intensity, while a subtle orange-coral undertone softens the red without muting it.

PMS 1775 U performs well in brand-facing displays, signage, and fabricated elements where bold color recognition is important. Because of its saturation, it may benefit from additional coats and careful priming to achieve uniform coverage, and lighting or finish choices can significantly influence how bright the color appears.

Similar colors:
PMS 1788 U: brighter and more vivid, with higher visual intensity and less coral warmth.
PMS 1795 U: darker and heavier, with increased red depth and reduced openness.
PMS 1785 U: slightly cooler and more red-forward, with less orange influence.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 1775 U

What does ordering paint matched to Pantone PMS 1775 U actually mean?

Pantone PMS 1775 U is a standardized Pantone color target used to communicate an exact visual color. When you order paint matched to PMS 1775 U, you are buying a coating mixed to visually align with that Pantone reference, not a Pantone-approved paint formula or a specific finish.

The Pantone code defines the color appearance only. It does not define sheen, texture, substrate behavior, or how the color will look under every lighting condition. Final appearance will depend on the paint type, sheen, application method, and viewing environment.

How should I compare samples when approving a PMS 1775 U color match?

For PMS 1775 U approvals, compare samples under consistent lighting and on the same or very similar substrates. Differences in light temperature, surface texture, or material can noticeably change how this saturated color appears.

Always allow the paint to fully dry and cure before making a final judgment. Wet paint can look darker or more saturated than the final cured color. For critical brand approvals, reviewing a physical sample in the actual installation lighting is recommended.

Does PMS 1775 U require special planning for coverage or undercoats?

PMS 1775 U is a vivid Pantone color, and highly saturated colors can have lower hide than neutral tones. This means you may need additional coats to achieve even, uniform coverage.

Using an appropriate undercoat or primer can help improve consistency and reduce the number of finish coats needed. Planning for test panels and extra material is a practical step, especially for large or high-visibility brand applications.

How do I order paint matched to Pantone PMS 1775 U on MyPerfectColor?

Start by selecting the paint format that fits your project, such as spray paint or another available paint type. Then choose the sheen, quantity, and any applicable options based on how and where the color will be used.

Because finish and application affect appearance, confirm these choices before ordering. If the project involves formal brand approval or large installations, ordering a sample first can help confirm the PMS 1775 U match before committing to full quantities.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 1775 U?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 1775 U depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. Can I use the Pantone PMS 1775 U for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 1775 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information.
