PMS 694 U is a Pantone PMS color positioned in the red-violet range with a subdued, professional character. It conveys warmth, restraint, and approachability with a slightly dusty, mature tone suited to brand-controlled environments.

The color presents as a medium-dark tone with an LRV of 35.34 and leans warm within the red-violet family. It shows moderate saturation and carries a soft rosy undertone that tempers brightness and sharpness.

PMS 694 U works well in branded displays, signage, and fabricated elements where a calm, controlled red-violet presence is needed rather than high-impact brightness. It can appear darker under low lighting, and consistent surface preparation and application help support even color development.

This Pantone PMS color is defined by the Pantone Matching System standard. Evaluate the color using a physical Pantone reference and a real paint sample in the intended lighting and finish. Paint appearance varies by finish and lighting.

Similar colors:

PMS 693 U: slightly lighter and softer, with less visual depth.
PMS 695 U: darker and richer, with increased red intensity.
PMS 7421 U: more chromatic and vibrant, with less muted character.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 694 U

What does PMS 694 U represent when used for brand experiences?

PMS 694 U is a Pantone PMS color used as a brand communication standard. It defines a specific visual color target so different vendors, materials, and formats can aim for the same appearance. When PMS 694 U is specified in brand guidelines, the goal is consistent visual recognition across marketing displays, signage, exhibits, and branded environments rather than a single paint formula or finish.

When is ordering a standard Pantone PMS match for PMS 694 U appropriate?

Ordering a standard Pantone PMS match for PMS 694 U is appropriate when the Pantone reference itself is the approved color target. This includes brand-facing displays, signage, exhibits, prototypes, and marketing installations where visual brand accuracy matters more than matching an existing painted surface. In these cases, PMS 694 U acts as the common reference used to align color across different components and vendors.

Is ordering by the name PMS 694 U the same as ordering by the Pantone code?

The most reliable way to order is by the full Pantone code PMS 694 U, not just the color name. The code includes important details, such as the U suffix, that define the specific Pantone reference. Omitting or changing the suffix can point to a different target. Always confirm the exact Pantone code used in your brand standards before ordering to avoid receiving the wrong color match.

What should I know before ordering custom-matched paint in PMS 694 U?

Paint matched to PMS 694 U is custom made to order, so it is important to confirm the product type, sheen, and format before purchasing. Finish choices can affect how bright or saturated PMS 694 U appears, and lighting can also influence perception. For high-visibility or large installations, sampling first is recommended so appearance can be evaluated under real conditions before committing to full production.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 694 U?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 694 U depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. We do our best to make sure you get your paint on time. Learn more about paint lead times at MyPerfectColor.
Can I use the Pantone PMS 694 U for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 694 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information.
