PMS 300 U is a Pantone Matching System color defined as a saturated blue with a bold, assertive presence. Within the Pantone PMS system, it conveys a confident, energetic, and highly recognizable brand-forward vibe suited to marketing and display environments.

The color reads as dark with a published LRV of 11.26 and presents a cool overall temperature. It shows high saturation with a clean blue undertone and minimal gray influence, and it can appear more intense in higher-sheen finishes.

PMS 300 U performs well in controlled brand environments where visual impact and color recognition are priorities. Due to its saturation and depth, it may require additional coats for even coverage, and consistent priming can help manage contrast and show-through.

The following examples reflect commonly cited branding associations and are based on publicly referenced design usage; they are illustrative, not exhaustive or exclusive. PMS 300 is widely cited in branding literature as part of corporate identity systems for technology and telecommunications brands, and it is commonly referenced in transportation and automotive branding as a strong, trust-oriented blue.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 300 U

What safety and VOC expectations should I have when using paint matched to Pantone PMS 300 U?

Pantone PMS 300 U is a color reference, not a paint specification. Safety practices and VOC content depend on the specific paint product you select, such as spray paint or another format.

Before use, review the Safety Data Sheet for the exact product you are ordering and follow the listed handling, ventilation, and personal protection guidance. Always plan to apply PMS 300 U matched paint in a well ventilated area and follow all product specific safety instructions.

Can Pantone PMS 300 U paint be used on plastics or low surface energy materials?

Yes, Pantone PMS 300 U can be matched into paints that are applied to plastics, but plastics vary widely in surface chemistry. Some plastics require special adhesion promoters or primers to achieve proper bonding.

Before committing to production, test the PMS 300 U matched paint on the actual plastic substrate you plan to use, with the recommended primer if applicable. This helps confirm adhesion, appearance, and durability under real conditions.

How is Pantone PMS 300 U used to create a consistent brand experience?

Pantone PMS 300 U is a standardized brand color reference used to communicate a specific visual target across vendors, materials, and applications. It helps ensure that logos, displays, and branded environments present a consistent and recognizable color.

When you order paint matched to PMS 300 U, the goal is visual alignment to the Pantone standard, not an exact material formula match. Always evaluate the color on your actual substrate and under your intended lighting to confirm brand acceptance.

How much area does a spray can of Pantone PMS 300 U typically cover?

Coverage for spray paint matched to Pantone PMS 300 U is approximate and depends on surface texture, application method, and number of coats. As a general planning guideline, one standard spray can often covers about 10 to 12 square feet with a single coat.

Highly saturated colors like PMS 300 U may require additional coats for uniform hide. Always order extra material and perform a test application to confirm coverage and final appearance before starting a full project.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 300 U?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 300 U depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. We do our best to make sure you get your paint on time. Learn more about paint lead times at MyPerfectColor.
Can I use the Pantone PMS 300 U for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

How much area will one spray can cover? And what is Pantone PMS 300 U spray paint made of?

To make spray paint matched to Pantone PMS 300 U. MyPerfectColor uses an acrylic enamel which is a fast-drying durable coating suitable for interior or exterior use. MyPerfectColor custom spray paint enables you to conveniently achieve a professional spray-smooth finish in any color in any sheen. Do I need a primer for Pantone PMS 300 U?
The need for primer for Pantone PMS 300 U depends on the type of paint, the substrate being painted and where it will be located. See our Primer Selection Table to see what primer you might need and learn more about when you might need a primer. Most people don't use a primer for a touch up paint application, but a primer may improve adhesion and is typically recommended for exterior applications.
How do I convert PMS 300 U to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 300 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
