PMS 2767 U is a Pantone PMS color used as a standardized visual reference for brand and specification work. It conveys a subdued, formal, low-reflectance presence with cues of depth, stability, and visual weight rather than brightness or colorfulness.

The color appears extremely dark, with an LRV of 1.56. It reads as cool and sits in a deep blue-violet range with low to moderate saturation, presenting as muted rather than vivid. A subtle blue undertone becomes more noticeable under strong or directional lighting, and finish choice can influence perceived contrast.

PMS 2767 U works well in brand-facing environments that require a dark, controlled background or strong contrast with lighter elements. Because of its very low lightness, careful surface preparation and consistent application can help avoid uneven appearance. Compared to slightly lighter navy tones, it carries more visual weight and shows less color detail in low lighting.

Similar colors:
PMS 2768 U: slightly lighter and more open, with clearer blue definition.
PMS 2766 U: darker and more neutral, with reduced blue presence.
PMS 7546 U: lighter and cooler, with less overall depth.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 2767 U

How should I compare and approve PMS 2767 U paint samples before final production?

When approving PMS 2767 U, compare samples under the same lighting where the finished piece will be used. Lighting differences can noticeably change how deep blues and violets are perceived.

Apply samples to the same substrate and with the same sheen you plan to use in production. Differences in surface or finish can make PMS 2767 U appear darker or more saturated.

Allow the paint to fully dry and cure before making a final decision. Freshly applied coatings can look slightly different than fully cured ones, especially with darker Pantone colors.

How much area does one spray can of PMS 2767 U typically cover?

As a general planning estimate, one spray can of PMS 2767 U covers about 8 to 12 square feet with a single coat. Actual coverage depends on surface texture, spray technique, and how heavily the paint is applied.

Darker and more saturated Pantone colors like PMS 2767 U may require multiple coats for uniform color and hide. If your surface is porous or uneven, plan for additional paint to achieve consistent results.

For larger projects, it is usually safer to round up the number of cans to avoid mid-project shortages and potential batch differences.

What should I expect when reordering PMS 2767 U for future projects?

PMS 2767 U is matched to the Pantone reference, but small visual differences can occur between production runs. This is normal for custom-matched paint colors.

To keep results as consistent as possible, reorder the same product type and sheen each time. Changing formats or finishes can alter how PMS 2767 U appears.

For high-visibility or brand-critical work, keep an approved physical sample and use it as the visual reference for future orders and comparisons.

Can PMS 2767 U be used for interior and exterior projects?

PMS 2767 U can be produced in paint types intended for interior or exterior use. The right choice depends on where and how the painted item will be exposed.

For interior displays, exhibits, or branded environments, select a product designed for indoor use and visual accuracy. For outdoor signage or installations, choose an exterior-rated option that can better handle sunlight and weather.

The Pantone code defines the color target, not the durability. Always select the paint type based on exposure and performance needs first, then evaluate the color match in that product.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 2767 U?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 2767 U depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. Can I use the Pantone PMS 2767 U for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 2767 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information.
