PMS 2768 U is a Pantone PMS color identified within the Pantone Matching System and commonly specified as a deep, near-black blue-violet. The color conveys a serious, controlled, low-reflectance presence with a cool overall impression.
The color appears extremely dark, with a measured LRV of 1.41, and reads as cool with a blue-violet bias. It maintains moderate chroma for its depth, with a subtle violet undertone that can become more apparent under brighter or cooler lighting, and its appearance can shift noticeably with finish and lighting conditions.
PMS 2768 U works well in brand-facing elements that require visual authority and minimal reflectance, including signage and display components. Its very low lightness means careful surface preparation, consistent application, and thoughtful finish selection can help avoid visible variation, especially when compared with lighter navy or blue-violet Pantone colors.
Similar colors: PMS 2767 U: slightly lighter and more open, with less visual density.MyPerfectColor is the official licensee of Pantone and authorized to reproduce the Pantone™ PMS 2768 U color in spray paint and other paints.

PMS 2768 U is a Pantone PMS reference, meaning it defines a visual color target rather than a specific paint formula. For prototypes and concept models, start by choosing a paint format that fits how the model will be built, such as spray paint for even coverage on small parts or panels, or brush-in-cap bottles for controlled application on details.
Plan to evaluate the color on the actual substrate used in the prototype and under the lighting where it will be reviewed. Because this is an uncoated Pantone reference, the appearance can shift with finish and surface texture. Ordering a small sample first helps confirm visual alignment before committing to a full prototype run.
PMS 2768 U is a deep, saturated Pantone color, and colors in this range often have lower hide. This means the substrate or previous color can influence the final appearance if coverage is not sufficient.
To improve uniformity, plan for multiple coats and consider using a compatible undercoat that supports even color development. Always test on the actual surface first, since coverage and perceived depth can change based on substrate color, texture, and finish.
Yes. PMS 2768 U is commonly used as a brand color target for sign, display, and exhibit fabrication where visual consistency matters. In these applications, the Pantone reference acts as the approval standard across vendors and materials.
Because fabricated elements can vary by substrate and finish, it is best to review a painted sample on the real material and under expected lighting. This step helps avoid surprises when the final components are installed.
PMS 2768 U paint is custom matched to order based on the Pantone reference, not pulled from a shelf formula. This means finish, sheen, and product type must be chosen carefully at the time of ordering.
Custom-made colors are difficult to revise after production, so confirm the format, sheen, and application method before ordering. For high-visibility or brand-critical projects, sampling first is the safest way to confirm acceptance.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

To make spray paint matched to Pantone PMS 2768 U. MyPerfectColor uses an acrylic enamel which is a fast-drying durable coating suitable for interior or exterior use. MyPerfectColor custom spray paint enables you to conveniently achieve a professional spray-smooth finish in any color in any sheen. It sticks well to most surfaces including metal, plastics, powder-coatings, cabinets and primed or previously painted wood.
The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.
While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 2768 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
