PMS 2602 U is a Pantone PMS color specified as a very dark, saturated purple with a strong magenta bias. Within the Pantone Matching System context, it conveys a bold, intense, and dramatic visual character that reads as confident, expressive, and attention-directing in branded environments.
The color appears very dark, with a low Light Reflectance Value of 6.66, and reads as cool overall with a pronounced magenta-purple hue. It shows very high saturation and strong chroma, with a rich magenta undertone that remains visible even at low lightness, and it can be sensitive to finish and lighting.
PMS 2602 U works well in brand-facing displays, signage elements, and exhibit components where deep, saturated purple is part of the visual identity. Because of its darkness and high chroma, it often benefits from careful surface preparation and may require additional coats for even coverage, especially over lighter or contrasting substrates.

Yes. PMS 2602 U is a Pantone color target, but the finish you choose can change how that color is perceived. A gloss finish can make PMS 2602 U appear darker, more saturated, or more vivid, while a matte or low-sheen finish can make it look softer or lighter even when the color match is based on the same Pantone reference.
This is a normal visual effect, not a color error. When comparing samples, make sure you are comparing the same sheen on the same substrate under similar lighting to judge PMS 2602 U accurately.
No. Pantone PMS colors like PMS 2602 U are brand communication standards, not references for blending into an existing painted surface. If you need touch-up-grade results that visually disappear into an existing finish, the correct path is to send a physical part or sample to be color matched.
Ordering PMS 2602 U as a Pantone match is best when you are recreating the brand color itself, such as for new display elements or branded components, not when you need a repair-style match to aged or applied paint.
Yes. PMS 2602 U is commonly used as a color target for signs, displays, exhibits, and other brand-facing fabricated elements. In these applications, the goal is visual alignment with the Pantone standard rather than matching an existing painted surface.
For critical brand approvals or large installations, it is recommended to review a sample of PMS 2602 U on the actual substrate and finish. This helps confirm appearance, coverage, and visual impact under real lighting conditions.
To order PMS 2602 U, start by selecting the paint format that fits your application, such as spray paint or another available option. Next, choose the sheen or finish, then select the quantity needed for proper coverage.
Because PMS 2602 U is a vivid Pantone color, plan for coverage testing if uniform appearance is critical. Review your selections before checkout to confirm the format, finish, and amount are correct for your project.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 2602 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
