Color characteristics The color appears very dark, with a low light reflectance value of 9.54, and reads as cool-leaning despite its red-violet base. It is highly saturated and intense, carrying a rich violet undertone with magenta influence.

Practical application This color is often selected for brand-facing displays, signage, and exhibit components where strong contrast is required. Its depth and saturation can demand careful surface preparation and may benefit from additional coats for uniform appearance, with finish and lighting playing a major role in how dark or vivid it appears.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 2592 U

What does using Pantone PMS 2592 U mean for brand consistency?

Pantone PMS 2592 U is a Pantone Matching System reference used to communicate an exact brand color target. It helps teams specify the same visual color across displays, signage, exhibits, and other brand-facing elements. The PMS code defines the intended appearance, not a paint formula or finish, so matching focuses on visual alignment rather than material-specific chemistry.

Should I order a sample of Pantone PMS 2592 U before full production?

Sampling is recommended when Pantone PMS 2592 U will be used in high-visibility brand applications, large installations, or projects that require formal brand approval. Sampling lets you review the color on your actual substrate and under your lighting conditions, which can affect how saturated Pantone colors are perceived.

How do different finishes affect the appearance of Pantone PMS 2592 U?

Finish choice can noticeably change how Pantone PMS 2592 U appears. Glossier finishes tend to look brighter and more saturated, while satin or matte finishes can reduce perceived intensity. Because PMS colors are visual standards, selecting the right finish is important to achieve the intended brand impact in the final environment.

What lead time should I expect when ordering paint matched to Pantone PMS 2592 U?

Paint matched to Pantone PMS 2592 U is made to order. Typical production lead time depends on the paint format selected and current production volume. Planning ahead is recommended for marketing schedules or installation deadlines, especially for custom spray paint or larger quantities.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 2592 U?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 2592 U depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. Can I use the Pantone PMS 2592 U for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
