PMS 245 U is a Pantone PMS color identifier used as a visual target for brand and marketing environments, conveying a bold, energetic, expressive, high-contrast, attention-forward vibe. Its appearance reads as a saturated magenta with a noticeable pink-purple character that stands out strongly against neutral surroundings.
The color has a mid-range lightness with an LRV of 36.65. It shows a cool-leaning magenta tendency, is highly saturated, and carries a pink-to-purple undertone that can shift with lighting conditions.
PMS 245 U works well in brand-facing displays, signage, and exhibit elements where high visibility and color impact are required. Its saturation can make surface preparation and even application important, and testing under installed lighting can help confirm the intended appearance.
Similar colors: PMS 246 U: slightly darker and cooler, with increased purple influence.MyPerfectColor is the official licensee of Pantone and authorized to reproduce the Pantone™ PMS 245 U color in spray paint and other paints.

When approving PMS 245 U, compare the paint sample to the Pantone reference under consistent lighting and on the same type of substrate. Differences in lighting temperature, gloss level, or material can change how the color appears. Allow the paint to fully dry and cure before making a final judgment, since saturated Pantone colors like PMS 245 U can shift slightly as they dry. View samples at the same angle and distance that the finished application will be seen.
The choice between matte and gloss for PMS 245 U affects how strong and vivid the color appears. Gloss finishes typically increase perceived saturation and visual punch, which can help the color stand out under bright lighting. Matte finishes reduce glare and reflections, which can be useful in environments with controlled lighting or close viewing distances. Consider the installed lighting and how far viewers will be from the surface when selecting the finish.
PMS 245 U is a Pantone PMS color used as a visual standard for brand communication. It allows designers, fabricators, and vendors to target the same color appearance across signage, displays, prototypes, and marketing environments. The Pantone code defines the intended color, but the final appearance can vary by material, finish, and lighting, which is why confirming samples in real conditions is important for brand consistency.
To order PMS 245 U, start by selecting the paint type that fits your application, such as spray paint or another available format for branding and display use. Next, choose the sheen or finish, since this affects the visual impact of the color. Then select the quantity needed for coverage, keeping in mind that saturated Pantone colors may require additional coats. Review your selections carefully before checkout to ensure the product matches your project requirements.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

To make spray paint matched to Pantone PMS 245 U. MyPerfectColor uses an acrylic enamel which is a fast-drying durable coating suitable for interior or exterior use. MyPerfectColor custom spray paint enables you to conveniently achieve a professional spray-smooth finish in any color in any sheen. It sticks well to most surfaces including metal, plastics, powder-coatings, cabinets and primed or previously painted wood.
The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.
While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 245 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
