PMS 1795 U is a Pantone PMS color commonly specified for brand and marketing applications that demand immediate visual attention. It presents a vivid, energetic red character with a warm, slightly orange-leaning vibe that reads as assertive, intense, and highly noticeable.

The color has a low light reflectance value (LRV 16.03), giving it a visually deep and weighty appearance. It reads as warm, with a red base that leans subtly toward orange rather than blue, and exhibits very high saturation that results in strong chroma and intensity. Its warm undertone can become more pronounced under bright or warm lighting conditions.

PMS 1795 U performs well in brand-facing environments where bold color presence is intentional and appropriate. Because of its high saturation and depth, it may benefit from a white or light-tinted primer and multiple thin coats to support even coverage, particularly over darker or high-contrast surfaces. Finish choice and lighting can significantly influence how bright and intense the color appears.

The following examples reflect commonly cited branding associations and are based on publicly referenced design usage; they are illustrative, not exhaustive or exclusive. The color is widely cited in branding literature as associated with Coca-Cola promotional and experiential materials, and it is commonly referenced in discussions of fast-food and retail branding where strong red visibility is emphasized.

Similar colors:
PMS 1797 U: slightly darker and deeper, with a more subdued red presence.
PMS 1788 U: brighter and more vivid, with a stronger orange influence.
PMS 185 U: slightly cooler and more balanced, with less warmth and chroma.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 1795 U

Why does PMS 1795 U look different on metal, plastic, and wood?

PMS 1795 U is a Pantone PMS color standard, not a material-specific formula. When it is reproduced as paint, the final appearance can change based on the substrate.

Absorption, surface texture, and reflectivity all affect how the color is perceived. Smooth, sealed metal may appear cleaner and brighter, while porous materials like wood can mute saturation. Plastics and existing coatings can shift appearance depending on gloss and base color.

If PMS 1795 U will be used across multiple materials, evaluate a sample on each actual substrate before final production to confirm visual alignment.

When should I order a sample of PMS 1795 U before committing to a full order?

Sampling is recommended when PMS 1795 U will be used in high-visibility brand applications, large installations, or any project requiring formal brand approval.

It is especially important to sample if lighting conditions are unique, if multiple substrates are involved, or if finish and sheen choices could affect perceived brightness and saturation.

Reviewing a physical sample under the actual lighting and on the intended material reduces approval risk before full production.

What safety and VOC considerations apply when using paint matched to PMS 1795 U?

Safety and VOC characteristics depend on the specific paint product and format selected, not on the PMS 1795 U color itself.

Always review the Safety Data Sheet for the chosen product and follow all handling, ventilation, and application guidance. Requirements can vary by chemistry, such as spray paint versus other paint formats.

Using proper personal protective equipment and applying the product in a suitable environment are essential for safe use.

What should I consider when applying PMS 1795 U over metal or existing powder-coated parts?

When applying PMS 1795 U to metal or over an existing powder coat, surface preparation has a direct impact on the final appearance.

Cleaning and scuffing help promote adhesion, but the color, gloss, and condition of the existing coating can influence how the Pantone match is perceived.

Because finish and reflectivity vary, evaluating a sample on the actual prepared surface is recommended before producing all parts.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 1795 U?

Can I use the Pantone PMS 1795 U for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

How do I convert PMS 1795 U to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 1795 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information.
