PMS 1765 U is a Pantone PMS color used as a brand and specification reference across marketing, display, and fabricated environments. It presents as warm, energetic, expressive, and moderately bright, with a friendly red-pink character rather than a deep or formal red.

The color has a mid-range lightness with an LRV of 48.29. It reads warm with a noticeable pink influence, shows moderately high saturation, and carries a soft rosy undertone rather than an orange or blue bias.

PMS 1765 U works well in brand-facing displays, signage, and promotional elements where warmth and visibility are important without the heaviness of darker reds. Like many saturated reds and pinks, it may require additional coats for even coverage, and lighting and finish sheen can noticeably affect its appearance.

Similar colors:
PMS 1767 U: slightly brighter and more saturated, with increased visual energy.
PMS 1775 U: deeper and darker, with more red weight and reduced openness.
PMS 1777 U: noticeably darker and more intense, with stronger red dominance.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 1765 U

What does the U suffix mean in Pantone PMS 1765 U, and how do I confirm it is the right reference?

Pantone PMS 1765 U includes the U suffix, which indicates the specific Pantone series reference. Pantone codes can exist in multiple series, and the suffix matters for visual alignment. Before ordering, confirm that your brand standards or project documentation specifically call for PMS 1765 U and not another version of the same number.

If your reference material does not clearly state the suffix, verify it with the brand owner or designer. Ordering the correct series helps reduce the risk of visible differences when the color is applied to paint.

Can I expedite production for Pantone PMS 1765 U if I have a tight deadline?

Expedited production options may be available for Pantone PMS 1765 U and can be selected during checkout when timing is critical. Expedited service shortens production time but does not change the matching process.

If you have a firm deadline or installation date, contact MyPerfectColor before ordering to confirm feasibility. This helps ensure the production schedule aligns with your project timeline.

Why does licensed reproduction matter when ordering Pantone PMS 1765 U paint?

Pantone PMS colors are licensed color standards, not generic color names. Licensed reproduction means the Pantone PMS 1765 U target is matched using authorized Pantone references rather than an approximation.

This is important for brand-facing applications where visual consistency matters. Using an authorized Pantone licensee helps reduce the risk of noticeable color deviation in marketing displays, signage, and branded environments.

What should I consider when applying Pantone PMS 1765 U paint to plastic surfaces?

Plastics and other low-surface-energy materials vary widely in how they accept paint. Pantone PMS 1765 U can be matched accurately, but adhesion depends on the specific plastic and surface preparation.

A compatible primer or adhesion promoter may be required. Always test the paint system on the actual plastic substrate before full production to confirm adhesion, coverage, and appearance.

Can I use the Pantone PMS 1765 U for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

How do I convert PMS 1765 U to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 1765 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information.
