PMS Dark Blue C is a Pantone PMS color used as a reference standard for consistent color reproduction across vendors and materials. It conveys a deep, controlled, serious, and corporate visual character with low reflectance and strong color weight.

The color reads as very dark with a low Light Reflectance Value (LRV) of 3.6. It presents a cool blue tendency with high saturation for its depth, maintaining clarity rather than appearing muted, and carries a clean blue undertone without noticeable gray or green bias.

PMS Dark Blue C works well when a strong visual anchor is required, particularly in controlled lighting where its depth can be fully perceived. Because of its darkness and saturation, it may require additional coats to achieve uniform coverage, especially over lighter or uneven substrates, and surface preparation can significantly affect appearance.

Similar colors:

Pantone 281 C: darker and slightly more neutral, with reduced chromatic intensity.
Pantone 282 C: similar depth but cooler and more restrained in saturation.
Pantone 288 C: lighter and more open, with greater visibility at a distance.

Can I use the Pantone PMS Dark Blue C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS Dark Blue C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information.
