Pantone™ PMS 7696 C

The perceived color of PMS 7696 C can change depending on the surface texture. A glossy or smooth surface tends to reflect more light, making PMS 7696 C appear slightly lighter and more saturated. In contrast, matte and textured surfaces may absorb more light and cast small shadows, causing PMS 7696 C to look deeper and less saturated. It is important to account for these effects when specifying finishes to ensure consistent brand presentation across your project.

For the most consistent finish with PMS 7696 C spray paint, apply several light coats rather than one heavy coat. Allow each layer to become dry to the touch before applying the next coat. This helps achieve uniform coverage and color accuracy and minimizes the risk of runs or uneven texture. The exact drying time can vary based on conditions, but patience between coats will produce better results.

For repeat orders of PMS 7696 C, you can expect close visual consistency if you use the same product type and sheen, and if you use the same color reference, such as a Pantone formula guide, for approval. Variation between batches can occur due to differences in materials or application, so always review a sample before full production. If brand consistency is critical, maintain the same approval process and document your original specifications.

One spray can of PMS 7696 C usually covers about 20 to 25 square feet with a light, even coat. Actual coverage depends on the application method, surface texture, and the number of coats required for full, uniform color. Porous or uneven surfaces and highly saturated colors may need additional paint to achieve proper hide and brand accuracy. Estimate your needs accordingly and consider extra paint for test spraying and touch-up of minor installation defects, but PMS 7696 C is not intended for actual touch-up repair use.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
