PMS 7678 C is a Pantone Matching System (PMS) standard color, widely used for brand-critical applications where chromatic accuracy is essential. This color presents with a deep, saturated purple-blue quality and a distinctly cool, modern, and assertive vibe. Its low light reflectance indicates a high level of visual impact and presence while remaining grounded and technical rather than decorative. The color’s consistently referenced appearance makes it suitable for marketing environments, brand displays, and signage where precise identity alignment is required.
PMS 7678 C reads as a dark, saturated purple with low light reflectance (LRV: 9.37). The color exhibits a cool undertone due to its position on the hue spectrum, slightly favoring blue over red. This color demonstrates moderate-to-high chroma, resulting in a vivid and clean impression. Its undertone remains true even in varying lighting, but finish choice (e.g., gloss vs. matte) may subtly impact perceived depth and vibrancy. PMS 7678 C can shift slightly in appearance depending on viewing angle and surface texture, especially in high-sheen finishes.
PMS 7678 C is appropriate for environments where a deep, cool purple is specified for brand-compliant displays, exhibits, or prototypes. It performs well on clean surfaces and on substrates that allow for smooth application; high-pigment saturation means that careful surface prep and potentially multiple coats may be needed for uniform visual coverage, particularly over lighter or highly porous substrates. Because it is a dark tone with vibrant chroma, its appearance can be strongly influenced by lighting temperature (cool lighting will intensify the blue-violet aspect; warm lighting may mute vibrancy). Compared to other similarly saturated purples, PMS 7678 C is noticeably cooler and deeper, giving brands a serious but memorable presence without veering into warmth or excessive brightness. Always confirm color acceptability with a physical sample viewed in project lighting and finish.

A licensed producer like MyPerfectColor is authorized to reproduce Pantone PMS colors according to Pantone standards, which helps ensure visual accuracy and consistency for displays and brand environments. Plastics and other low-surface-energy materials may present adhesion challenges when coating with PMS 7678 C paint. Because different plastics behave differently, selecting the right primer or adhesion promoter is important for a durable result. Always test PMS 7678 C paint and your chosen primer system on the actual substrate under project conditions before moving to production. This approach helps confirm visual quality and adhesion, reducing the risk of costly rework on brand displays or signage.
PMS 7678 C is often specified for prototypes and concept models to demonstrate brand color alignment prior to production. When evaluating PMS 7678 C for prototypes, select a paint format that works with your materials and fabrication methods, such as spray paint or paint pens. Review the sample under project lighting and in your intended finish to confirm acceptability. This helps ensure that future displays or productions express the brand color properly, making adjustments early if needed.
Sampling PMS 7678 C paint is recommended for high-visibility brand projects, large installations, or when using unfamiliar substrates or lighting conditions. Since this color is vivid and saturated, final appearance can vary by material, finish, and lighting. Requesting a sample allows verification under actual project conditions, helping you confirm brand alignment and reducing risk of costly missteps in production runs.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 7678 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information.
