PMS 7672 C is a Pantone Matching System color from the Pantone PMS collection, commonly specified for brand identity and marketing environments. The color presents as assertive, technical, and substantial, with a contemporary character. It evokes a sense of professionalism, clarity, and creativity, making it suitable for environments or collateral that require a distinctive and memorable hue. The low light reflectance value (LRV 6.98) signals a dark profile with strong visual weight.
PMS 7672 C appears dark, with a low light reflectance value (LRV 6.98). The color exhibits a cool, blue-violet tendency. PMS 7672 C is highly saturated, imparting strong chromatic presence. The undertone leans distinctly toward violet, with minimal warmth. This color is sensitive to gloss and finish; higher sheen may amplify vibrancy and perceived depth.
PMS 7672 C is frequently specified for primary or accent backgrounds in brand displays where color fidelity and memorability are critical. The color is often used in corporate event signage and branded environmental graphics to convey a contemporary and bold message.
PMS 7672 C works well where a deep, cool statement color is required to distinguish branded or marketing elements from their surroundings. Due to its low LRV and high chroma, it may require multiple coats for even coverage, especially over light or textured substrates. Careful consideration should be given to finish selection, as high-gloss or semi-gloss sheens will intensify color depth and may highlight surface imperfections. When evaluating this color, view painted samples under the intended lighting to confirm appearance, and compare coverage needs to other less saturated or lighter colors.
This Pantone PMS color is defined by the Pantone Matching System standard. Evaluate the color using a physical Pantone reference and a real paint sample in the intended lighting and finish. Paint appearance varies by finish and lighting.

The surface texture can noticeably affect how Pantone PMS 7672 C is perceived in marketing and display applications. Smoother surfaces will generally make PMS 7672 C look deeper and more uniform, while textured or rough surfaces can cause the color to appear lighter or less saturated due to scattered light and shadowing effects. On rougher substrates, shadows may reduce the perceived intensity of this dark, blue-violet shade. It is best to evaluate physical samples of PMS 7672 C on the chosen substrate to confirm that appearance matches project expectations under your lighting conditions.
Choosing matte or gloss for PMS 7672 C depends on your desired visual impact and viewing environment. A gloss finish will amplify the vibrancy and depth of PMS 7672 C, making it stand out in well-lit or distant display settings. However, gloss can introduce glare and highlight surface imperfections, which may be distracting in up-close installations. Matte reduces glare and offers a more subtle, even look, but can cause dark and saturated colors like PMS 7672 C to appear less intense. For best results, sample both finishes in your intended lighting and environment before making a decision.
Pantone books are reference standards using specific ink and paper. Paint matched to PMS 7672 C may appear different due to sheen, substrate, and application method. Even when the formula is accurate, gloss or matte sheens, as well as surface texture of your project, will influence brightness and saturation. Always compare painted samples of PMS 7672 C to your Pantone reference under the same lighting where the final work will be displayed, and use both a physical Pantone book and painted sample for visual confirmation.
For PMS 7672 C applied to metal or powder-coated surfaces, proper surface preparation is critical. Metal should be clean and free from oils or oxidation, and scuffed lightly to promote adhesion. If you are recoating existing powder coat, any underlying gloss or color can affect the final look of PMS 7672 C, especially for this saturated, dark color. Sampling the color on your actual part or a prepared metal panel is strongly advised to confirm appearance, coverage, and finish alignment before full production.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
