Pantone® PMS 7674 C . Paint And Spray Paint. MyPerfectColor is the official licensee of Pantone and authorized to reproduce the Pantone Matching System colors in spray paint and other paints.

PMS 7674 C, part of the Pantone Matching System, is a focused blue-violet hue associated with a composed and contemporary vibe. It presents as cool, professional, and slightly muted, providing a clear presence without excessive brightness. The color’s controlled chroma and moderate lightness make it operationally stable for consistent brand presentation.

- PMS 7674 C appears as a medium-dark blue-violet based on its moderate LRV (27.2). - The color has a cool undertone with a subtle violet influence, avoiding overt warmth. - The chroma is moderately saturated, making the color distinct without becoming overly vivid. - This color provides a measured intensity, resulting in a professional yet recognizable appearance. - PMS 7674 C can be sensitive to variations in finish; gloss or semi-gloss finishes may emphasize blue notes, while matte finishes can further mute the hue.

PMS 7674 C is operationally well suited for branded fixtures, displays, and corporate identity materials where a modern, sophisticated blue-violet is required. For best results, evaluate paint samples under the actual lighting and finish to ensure the undertone and depth remain true to intent. The color may shift perceptibly between lighting environments and with different sheens, so confirmation on the substrate is recommended. Compared to similar colors, its balance of chroma and muted blue-violet tone gives it versatility while maintaining distinctive appearance.

Similar colors:
PMS 7672 C: Slightly lighter and more chromatic, showing a brighter blue-violet appearance.

PMS 7677 C: Darker and noticeably deeper with less chromatic vibrancy, leaning toward a moodier blue-violet.

PMS 2725 C: Cooler and lighter, with a paler blue overtone distinct from the muted depth of PMS 7674 C.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 7674 C

How can I use PMS 7674 C in prototypes or concept models to ensure accurate visual brand alignment?

For prototype and concept model workflows where accurate brand color representation is critical, selecting PMS 7674 C ensures you are targeting an industry-standard reference. Use paint formats such as spray paint, paint pens, or bottles available for PMS 7674 C to match the physical model with the intended brand color. It is important to sample the color on the actual substrate you plan to use, as finish and material can affect appearance. Review the painted model under your intended lighting to confirm the blue-violet undertone and chroma before moving to production or presentation phases.

What steps should I take to achieve uniform coverage of PMS 7674 C over large display or exhibit surfaces?

To maintain a consistent and professional appearance of PMS 7674 C across large areas, plan for even application using the same paint format and finish throughout the project. Apply multiple thin coats rather than one heavy coat to help avoid patchiness and coverage issues typical of saturated mid-tone colors. Ensure that each coat dries completely before the next is applied. Stir or shake products thoroughly before and during use for color consistency. Evaluating a test section first is recommended to confirm your technique yields the uniform blue-violet hue across the full surface.

Why is PMS 7674 C often specified for sign, display, or exhibit fabrication, and how should I confirm it appears correct?

PMS 7674 C is used for fabricated elements when brand standards require a consistent, recognizable blue-violet. Its Pantone specification makes it easier to communicate color requirements to different vendors and ensure visual consistency across multiple components or materials. Before final fabrication, always test the color on the actual substrate and in the lighting where the sign or display will be viewed. Small sample panels can reveal how finish and environment influence the final appearance, reducing the risk of visible mismatch in production.

Does PMS 7674 C require a special undercoat or extra coats for proper coverage?

PMS 7674 C is a moderately saturated blue-violet, which may need extra attention for full uniform coverage, especially over strong colors or high-contrast substrates. Using a primer in a neutral or white shade can help improve hide and color uniformity. Plan on applying more than one coat for best results, as this helps minimize the risk of the substrate affecting the final color. Always allow for drying between coats and evaluate coverage before moving on to the next stage of your project.

Can I use the Pantone PMS 7674 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
