PMS 2725 C, part of the Pantone PMS system, occupies a distinctive position in the blue-violet spectrum and is characterized by its vibrant, assertive, and modern visual presence. This color is frequently described as energetic, graphic, and attention-grabbing, making it suitable for high-impact brand and display applications. Its strong chromatic content and overt coolness reinforce its use for technical and contemporary themes.

PMS 2725 C appears distinctly dark, with an LRV of 12.5 indicating low reflectance. The color presents a cool tendency, sitting firmly in the blue-violet range. PMS 2725 C exhibits strong saturation, leading to vivid, unmistakable color expression. The undertone is pronounced violet with blue dominance, minimizing any warmth. The color tends to accentuate differences between matte and gloss finishes, with the saturation appearing more intense in higher-gloss applications.

PMS 2725 C is most effective when a project requires a bold and recognizable cool tone for branding, exhibits, or displays. Evaluate the color under design-intended lighting to confirm visual alignment, as it is sensitive to both finish and illumination. Compared to similar colors in its family, PMS 2725 C provides deeper visual impact and heightened chromaticity, but may highlight imperfections on poorly prepared surfaces due to its depth and vividness.

This Pantone PMS color is defined by the Pantone Matching System standard. Evaluate the color using a physical Pantone reference and a real paint sample in the intended lighting and finish. Paint appearance varies by finish and lighting.

Similar colors:
PMS 2727 C: Similar cool family but appears slightly lighter and with more chromatic blue.

PMS 2735 C: Darker and deeper, with a pronounced violet tone and less visible blue.

PMS 2718 C: Lighter and less saturated, offering a softer appearance in applications.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 2725 C

How closely will PMS 2725 C paint match the color in my Pantone book?

The Pantone book provides a reference standard for PMS 2725 C, but actual paint appearance can vary depending on the finish and the material being painted. Factors like gloss level, substrate type, and lighting conditions may affect how the color looks in practice. For the most accurate result, compare a physical paint sample of PMS 2725 C to your Pantone reference under your project's typical lighting and on your actual surface whenever possible.

Should I sample PMS 2725 C before ordering for a large branding project?

Sampling PMS 2725 C is strongly recommended for high-visibility branding projects, large display areas, or permanent installations. Sampling helps verify that the color, finish, and substrate perform as expected in your actual environment and lighting. This can minimize surprises and support informed brand approvals before full-scale production.

Can I convert PMS 2725 C to a color from another paint brand?

PMS 2725 C is defined by the Pantone Matching System and does not reliably convert to other paint brands' colors. Most paint companies have unique color lines, and cross-referencing is rarely exact, especially for vivid and saturated hues like PMS 2725 C. If your standard requires PMS 2725 C, specify this reference rather than seeking an equivalent from a different brand.

When is a standard Pantone PMS 2725 C paint match appropriate to order?

Ordering a standard Pantone PMS 2725 C match is appropriate for most marketing, display, signage, prototype, and exhibit projects where the Pantone reference is the visual color target. It is also used when consistent brand color presentation is required across installations or components. For specific substrate or approval requirements, consider sampling to confirm the result under actual project conditions.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 2725 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 2725 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. We do our best to make sure you get your paint on time. Learn more about paint lead times at MyPerfectColor.
Can I use the Pantone PMS 2725 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

Most people don't use a primer for a touch up paint application, but a primer may improve adhesion and is typically recommended for exterior applications.
How do I convert PMS 2725 C to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 2725 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
