PMS 7669 C from the Pantone Matching System is a distinctly deep purple with a cool, muted vibe, often described as sophisticated and assertive. It is part of Pantone’s globally recognized PMS collection, which serves as a color specification standard for branding, marketing, and industrial design professionals. The color conveys seriousness and modernity, with undertones that reinforce its technical and contemporary feel.
PMS 7669 C appears as a dark shade, corresponding to an LRV of 12.91, which means it reflects relatively little light. The color has a clearly cool tendency, leaning toward blue-violet on the hue spectrum. PMS 7669 C exhibits strong, vivid saturation that gives it boldness without appearing overly bright. The undertone is cool and slightly muted, avoiding the warmth found in redder purples. This color can show perceptible variation depending on paint finish; glossier finishes may increase perceived depth and intensity, while matte finishes may render it more subdued.
PMS 7669 C is well suited for brand-centric environments, display elements, or marketing installations where a commanding and modern purple is specified. It performs reliably as a statement color, especially under neutral or cool lighting conditions that maintain its intended appearance. Due to its depth and saturation, coverage may require additional coats, particularly over lighter substrates. The color may shift slightly in appearance depending on gloss level and lighting, so both finish selection and on-site sampling are advised for sensitive branding or high-visibility projects. When matching other purple or violet tones, PMS 7669 C will generally appear cooler and more substantial.

Pantone PMS 7669 C is a standardized color defined by the Pantone Matching System, widely used for brand consistency. Using a Pantone licensed provider like MyPerfectColor ensures that paint matched to PMS 7669 C is produced according to Pantone standards, supporting accurate brand color representation in displays, signage, and marketing environments. Unlicensed providers may not match color, gloss, or finish with the required accuracy, which can lead to inconsistencies or approval delays for brand-facing projects.
Before using PMS 7669 C paint on metal or powder-coated items, be aware that surface prep is critical for both adhesion and color accuracy. Clean and scuff the surface thoroughly, especially if the part already has a coating or is glossy, since existing coatings and substrates can affect how PMS 7669 C appears. Because deep, saturated colors like this purple may need extra coats for even coverage, testing a sample on your actual substrate and in your chosen gloss level will help ensure the result meets brand expectations.
The way PMS 7669 C looks can shift noticeably under different lighting conditions. Cool or neutral daylight will keep the intended bluish-purple character, while warm lighting may make it look more muted or less saturated. Evaluating PMS 7669 C samples under the actual lighting where they will be displayed is essential to confirm that the color aligns with your branding goals. This is especially important for high-visibility or approval-sensitive brand environments.
On average, one standard aerosol can of PMS 7669 C paint covers about 16 square feet per coat on smooth, primed surfaces. However, deep and saturated shades like PMS 7669 C often require multiple coats to achieve uniform color, especially over lighter or contrasting substrates. Surface texture and application method also impact coverage, so factor in extra material for achieving full opacity and consider testing a sample section to help estimate total quantity needed for your project.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
