PMS 7626 C, a Pantone PMS system color, is a saturated, assertive red with a medium-dark appearance and a distinctly warm character. Its overall vibe is bold, energetic, modern, and attention-grabbing, with professional and technical overtones.

PMS 7626 C has a medium-dark value, with low light reflectance (LRV: 14.7). The color is warm-toned, displaying a noticeable red-orange hue. The color has high saturation and appears vivid and intense in most applications. This color carries a subtle orange undertone, enhancing its vibrancy. Its appearance can be significantly influenced by finish selection; gloss levels will intensify perceived saturation.

PMS 7626 C is often specified in brand identity systems that require a commanding red. The color is used for retail signage, event components, and prototypes that demand strong color presence. PMS 7626 C is referenced in environments where the integrity of the brand’s visual impact is critical.

PMS 7626 C is optimally used when a powerful, energetic red is needed for coordinated branding elements, particularly in signage, exhibits, and high-visibility displays. For best appearance, evaluate samples under intended lighting conditions, as strong reds can shift in appearance due to surrounding colors and surface sheen. Saturated colors like this may require additional coats to achieve full opacity, especially over light or contrasting substrates. Its vividness sets it apart from deeper or more muted reds, but may challenge color consistency across different materials.

Similar colors:
PMS 186 C: Slightly deeper and more neutral, offering a less orange and less saturated red.

PMS 485 C: Lighter and with a stronger orange component, resulting in a brighter appearance.

PMS 200 C: Darker and cooler, presenting a less vibrant, more classic red tone.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 7626 C

How does the finish affect the appearance of Pantone PMS 7626 C in paint applications?

The finish or sheen selected for Pantone PMS 7626 C can make the color look noticeably different even when the underlying color target is correct. A higher gloss finish will increase the perceived saturation and brightness, making PMS 7626 C appear more vivid and intense. Conversely, a matte or flat finish will reduce reflectance and can make the color seem deeper or less saturated. When evaluating or specifying PMS 7626 C, always compare samples with the same sheen under consistent lighting to ensure accurate visual alignment.

When is it appropriate to order a standard Pantone PMS 7626 C paint match?

Ordering a standard Pantone PMS 7626 C match is appropriate for marketing displays, brand signage, exhibits, and prototypes where color-accurate visual presentation is required and the Pantone PMS reference is your specified standard. Use standard PMS matches when brand consistency and visual impact are top priorities, and when touch-up or repair is not needed. This approach is best for projects where the most important goal is matching the brand-approved color target for temporary or visually critical elements.

Should I sample Pantone PMS 7626 C before full-scale production?

Sampling PMS 7626 C is strongly recommended for high-visibility brand projects, large-scale installations, or any case where approval workflows require confirmation of color accuracy. Because saturated reds like PMS 7626 C can shift appearance based on substrate, finish, and lighting, a sample on your actual material under real project conditions will help avoid surprises and ensure your stakeholders are satisfied with the final result.

Are there any notable brand or application contexts for Pantone PMS 7626 C?

Pantone PMS 7626 C is a bold, energetic red often specified in branding guidelines requiring a commanding visual presence. It is commonly seen in retail signage, branded event environments, and prototypes where a vibrant, modern red is integral to delivering the intended brand impact. This color is chosen when a powerful, attention-grabbing appearance is needed to reinforce brand identity in public-facing applications.

Can I use the Pantone PMS 7626 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
