PMS 7573 C is a standardized color from the Pantone Matching System (PMS) collection, designed for consistent color production across different media and manufacturing processes. The color is most often described as assertive, warm, energetic, and attention-grabbing with a technical, brand-focused vibe. It appears as an earthy, golden orange with a notable yellow influence, and is perceived as bold without being fluorescent or neon.

PMS 7573 C appears as a moderately dark color; its relatively low LRV (17.89) means it does not reflect much light. The color presents a distinctly warm tendency, reflecting its yellow-orange base. PMS 7573 C is highly saturated, lending it strong visual impact and vibrancy. The undertone is yellow, giving it a golden, deep appearance that differentiates it from redder oranges. The color may exhibit changes in brightness or depth depending on the finish and lighting, appearing deeper in matte finishes and more pronounced in gloss.

PMS 7573 C is effective where a bold, warm orange is needed to convey energy or grab attention, such as focal branding elements, displays, and environmental graphics. In application, ensure surfaces are properly primed, as high-chroma oranges can have lower hide and may require additional coats for full opacity. Lighting conditions significantly influence its perceived warmth and depth; evaluate samples in both direct and ambient light. Compared to similar orange or ochre tones, PMS 7573 C will present as distinctly yellower and more golden, particularly under neutral lighting.

Similar colors:
PMS 138 C – Lighter and slightly less saturated, appearing more muted and less intense.

PMS 159 C – Darker and redder, with less of a yellow undertone and deeper overall appearance.

PMS 144 C – Brighter and more chromatic, reading as a more vivid orange with less earthy depth.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 7573 C

How do I confirm I am referencing the correct Pantone color code for PMS 7573 C?

It is important to verify that PMS 7573 C is the exact Pantone color specified in your brand standards or project documentation before ordering paint. Pantone codes may include suffixes like 'C' (Coated) or 'U' (Uncoated), which refer to the intended reference and can affect the color target. Always consult your official brand guide or color documentation to avoid mistakes that could impact brand consistency.

What surface preparation steps are recommended before applying PMS 7573 C paint?

For best results with PMS 7573 C paint, clean and degrease your surface thoroughly to remove contaminants that can affect adhesion. Lightly scuff glossy surfaces where appropriate to promote better bonding. Make sure the substrate is dry before painting. Perform a small test application on your specific surface to confirm adhesion and appearance, as highly saturated oranges like PMS 7573 C may require additional coats for full coverage, especially on contrasting backgrounds.

Why is PMS 7573 C frequently used in sign, display, or exhibit fabrication?

PMS 7573 C is often chosen for signs, displays, and exhibit components because it is a defined Pantone standard that helps ensure visual consistency across different fabricated materials. When fabricating branded elements, matching to PMS 7573 C supports brand guidelines and marketing requirements. It is best practice to sample the color on the actual substrate to verify the appearance under intended lighting before full production, as material and finish can influence the final look of the color.

How much area will one spray can of PMS 7573 C typically cover?

One spray can of PMS 7573 C generally covers about 20 square feet per coat on a smooth, nonporous surface. Coverage will vary based on surface texture, color contrast with the background, and the application method. Because PMS 7573 C is a highly saturated orange, multiple coats may be needed for full opacity, so factor this in when estimating the amount needed for your project. When in doubt, ordering extra cans can help ensure project completion without color variation from different batches.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 7573 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 7573 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. Can I use the Pantone PMS 7573 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
