Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 7570 C

What are the best practices for comparing Pantone PMS 7570 C paint samples during approval?

To evaluate Pantone PMS 7570 C accurately, compare paint samples under consistent lighting, ideally in the actual environment where they will be used. Use the same substrate and surface preparation for all samples to minimize variability. Allow the paint to fully dry and cure before making a judgment, as wet or partially cured coatings may appear different. For brand-critical projects, always compare the physical paint sample to a Pantone PMS 7570 C reference swatch in the intended finish and lighting.

What does it mean to order Pantone PMS 7570 C as paint?

Ordering Pantone PMS 7570 C as paint means you are requesting a color match to the standardized Pantone PMS 7570 C visual reference. This code specifies the intended color target, but it does not control the paint formulation, application process, or finish. Paint matched to PMS 7570 C is made to visually align with the Pantone standard, but physical factors like gloss, substrate, and lighting will affect the final appearance. Always verify in your application context.

Can I use the Pantone PMS 7570 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
