PMS 2291 C is a Pantone PMS system color recognized for its lively, saturated green character. It is sourced from the Pantone Matching System collection, primarily used in brand and environmental design applications. The color projects a clear, energetic, marketing-forward vibe and is often selected for its highly visible, fresh, and contemporary appearance. Visual attributes include a pure-toned green with a clear chromatic focus and a moderate to bright value, making it suitable for brand environments and displays requiring visual clarity.

PMS 2291 C presents as a light to moderately bright green (LRV 55.8). The color has a cool tendency, typical of greens situated near yellow on the hue spectrum. PMS 2291 C is highly saturated and maintains strong chromatic purity. The color displays a distinctly clean, almost primary-like green undertone. PMS 2291 C can be sensitive to finish; high-gloss applications yield a sharper, more vivid impression, while matte finishes may slightly lower perceived saturation.

PMS 2291 C works well where a visually distinct green is needed in signage, display elements, or branded environments, particularly in contexts requiring strong visibility under a variety of lighting conditions. For most accurate results, always evaluate the color in the intended lighting and substrate, as both finish and ambient light can influence perceived vibrancy and warmth. Compared to similar greens, PMS 2291 C appears both cleaner and more saturated, which may result in lighter coverage or increased show-through on porous surfaces; additional coats or a white primer may be required to achieve uniform opacity.

Similar colors:
PMS 2296 C – Slightly lighter and more yellow-toned, providing a softer appearance.

PMS 2272 C – Marginally darker and more muted, resulting in a less vibrant look.

PMS 2286 C – Cooler and more blue-influenced, presenting a fresher, sharper feel.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 2291 C

What safety and VOC factors should I consider when using paint matched to Pantone PMS 2291 C?

Safety expectations for PMS 2291 C paint depend on the specific product type and formulation you choose. Review the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for the exact paint format before use and follow all recommended safe handling, ventilation, and protective equipment guidelines. VOC content can vary by product and may affect compliance or indoor air quality. Always select the appropriate product for your project and setting, and handle all paints in accordance with their labeled instructions.

How can I achieve solid coverage when using vivid Pantone PMS 2291 C paint?

PMS 2291 C is a highly saturated, clean green color that may provide less hide on porous or dark surfaces. For best results, consider applying a white or light-toned undercoat before painting. It is normal to require multiple coats to reach uniform opacity with strong chromatic colors like PMS 2291 C. Planning for extra coats and an appropriate base layer helps ensure a consistent, vibrant brand appearance across all substrates.

How do I make sure I am ordering the correct color match for Pantone PMS 2291 C?

To avoid confusion, always specify the full Pantone code 'PMS 2291 C' when ordering paint. The code, not just the name, ensures you receive the intended color from the Pantone PMS system. Including any required suffix or series letter is important because Pantone offers similar codes in different finishes. Double-check your brand guidelines for the exact code and verify it matches your intended application before submitting your order.

When is it appropriate to order a standard Pantone PMS 2291 C paint match?

A standard PMS 2291 C match is suitable when your priority is brand consistency for display, signage, exhibits, prototypes, or marketing environments where the Pantone color is the visual reference. This approach is best when you are aiming for color alignment rather than matching an existing coating or substrate. For very large or high-visibility installations, or when substrate-specific appearance is critical, evaluate using a sample or consult your brand manager.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 2291 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 2291 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. Can I use the Pantone PMS 2291 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
