PMS 2290 C (Pantone PMS system) is a distinctly bright, saturated yellow-green, often perceived as energetic, modern, and attention-getting in brand or visual specification contexts. Its character is defined by a visible clarity, strong chroma, and a contemporary, technical vibe. With a medium-light LRV of 59.3, it registers as a noticeably light but visually impactful green that stands out in most visual environments.

- PMS 2290 C presents as a medium-light color (LRV 59.3). - The color is distinctly cool, tending toward the yellow side of the green spectrum. - The color demonstrates high chroma and saturation, providing strong visual punch. - PMS 2290 C reveals a crisp yellow-green undertone, especially under daylight-balanced lighting. - The color can shift in apparent vibrancy depending on finish; glossier finishes increase perceived brightness, while matte finishes slightly mute its impact.

PMS 2290 C is suited for projects that call for high-visibility accenting or where a clean, contemporary green is required for brand or display consistency. Evaluate on production substrates and in intended lighting to accurately judge vibrancy and coverage; high chroma colors like this can sometimes require multiple coats for full uniformity. Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 2290 C

When is it appropriate to specify Pantone PMS 2290 C for sign, display, or exhibit fabrication?

Pantone PMS 2290 C is suitable for use when brand standards require a consistent yellow-green across signs, displays, or fabricated exhibit components. It is commonly specified in marketing and branded environments to achieve uniformity across vendors and materials. For best results, sample PMS 2290 C on the actual production substrate and under the expected lighting, as the final appearance can shift depending on surface and environment. This approach ensures visual alignment with brand expectations in the completed installation.

Do I need a primer before applying PMS 2290 C matched paint?

Primer needs for PMS 2290 C depend on the substrate, paint type, and project requirements. Bare metals, plastics, or unfinished surfaces almost always require a primer to ensure proper adhesion and color uniformity. Some highly saturated colors like PMS 2290 C may also benefit from a white or color-appropriate primer to maximize vibrancy and coverage, especially over dark substrates. Refer to your paint format's product page or consult with MyPerfectColor for substrate-specific recommendations before ordering.

What durability should I expect from Pantone PMS 2290 C spray paint in marketing or display applications?

The durability of PMS 2290 C spray paint depends on surface preparation, the paint formula selected, and exposure conditions. For brand-facing displays and exhibits, indoor use generally provides lasting performance when surfaces are properly prepared and a compatible primer is used. For high-contact or exterior applications, choosing a suitable paint type and considering a protective clear topcoat can improve resistance to abrasion and weather. Review your environmental requirements and discuss with MyPerfectColor support to select the optimal paint system based on your project needs.

Choose the desired quantity and review related options like primer or topcoat. Before adding to cart, verify all selections to ensure they align with your brand requirements and intended use. Can I use the Pantone PMS 2290 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 2290 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information.
