PMS 356 C is part of the Pantone Matching System (Pantone PMS) collection, a widely used specification standard in branding, marketing, and display fabrication. This color presents a strong visual impression characterized as assertive, vivid, technical, and modern. PMS 356 C delivers a rich green hue suited for high-impact brand environments and ensures consistent reproduction across substrates when color accuracy is paramount.
PMS 356 C appears as a dark green with a measured LRV of 11.25, indicating low light reflectance and a deep overall appearance. The color trends moderately cool, with a definite green hue and no significant yellow or blue overtones. Saturation is high, making the color vivid, intense, and visually prominent. PMS 356 C carries a true-green undertone, without obvious hints of other color families. The color’s depth and saturation can be influenced by surface gloss and lighting conditions, with gloss finishes increasing apparent vibrancy.
PMS 356 C is often specified in corporate and institutional identity programs that require a recognizable and reliable green. The color is frequently referenced in signage, exhibit graphics, branded environments, and display hardware for organizations seeking a confident green.
PMS 356 C is operationally effective in controlled lighting and on surfaces where a deeply saturated green is needed for brand alignment or design intent. Users should verify appearance on the actual substrate and in the intended lighting, as darker, vivid colors may shift under varied conditions and can display higher sensitivity to gloss level. This green will generally appear deeper and more chromatic than other standard greens, especially in low-light contexts, and may require additional coats or careful application for uniform coverage.

To ensure you get the intended color match, always reference the full Pantone code 'PMS 356 C' when ordering. The code includes both the number (356) and the suffix (C), which indicate the exact color and its series. Using the correct code reduces the risk of receiving a color that does not match your brand standard or intended use. If you are working from a brand guide or specification, double-check for the exact Pantone code and avoid relying only on the color name or a partial code.
Before painting metal or powder-coated parts with PMS 356 C, thoroughly clean the surface to remove dust, oils, and residues. Scuff the surface lightly to promote adhesion, especially if it already has a glossy coating. Existing finish, gloss level, and surface texture will affect how PMS 356 C appears, so results may differ from flat samples or swatches. If brand alignment is critical, apply a test panel on your specific substrate first to evaluate appearance under your actual lighting and finish conditions.
The surface texture can significantly change how PMS 356 C is perceived. Smooth, glossy surfaces will make the color appear brighter and more vivid, while textured or matte surfaces can increase shadowing, making the color seem deeper or less saturated. Always evaluate samples on your chosen substrate and finish to confirm the visual outcome before full production, as the same color may look different on metal, plastic, or painted wood due to texture differences.
For PMS 356 C, achieve a more uniform and brand-accurate result by applying several light coats rather than one heavy coat. Allow appropriate drying or flash time between coats to prevent runs and uneven texture. Thinner, even applications help ensure deeper colors like PMS 356 C cover evenly and maintain their intended visual impact. This method is especially important for vivid or saturated Pantone greens, which can sometimes require additional coats for complete coverage.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 356 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information.
