PMS 2277 C is part of the Pantone Matching System, frequently specified in marketing, branding, and production environments. This color is a medium-dark, strongly chromatic green with a cool, lively presence and noticeable intensity. The overall vibe is energetic, direct, technical, clean, and highly visible, making it especially suitable for applications needing attention and memorability.

PMS 2277 C has a medium-dark appearance with an LRV of 23.5, meaning it absorbs a significant amount of light. The color has a distinctly cool tendency based on its hue position, aligning closer to the blue-green segment of the spectrum. This color is highly saturated, offering strong chroma and visual punch. The undertone of PMS 2277 C is a clean, cool green with slight bluish influence, resulting in minimal warmth. The color’s high chroma can make its appearance sensitive to finish choice and lighting, with gloss finishes amplifying vibrancy and matte finishes reducing perceived saturation.

PMS 2277 C works well in environments where brand consistency, unmistakable color identity, or strong visual differentiation is a priority. It is most effective when used on surfaces that benefit from bold color without the risk of looking muted or subdued. Because of its high saturation, uniform color application may require multiple coats for optimal coverage, particularly over contrasting base colors. Viewing a physical sample in the intended lighting and finish is recommended, as perceived color may shift based on gloss level and environment. Compared to similar greens, PMS 2277 C is notably more saturated and cooler, appearing less yellow and more vivid.

Similar colors:
PMS 2270 C – Similar hue but is lighter and less saturated, providing a less intense appearance.

PMS 2286 C – Darker and even cooler, with a more forest-like green note.

PMS 354 C – Warmer and more yellow-leaning, with a brighter but less deep overall effect.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 2277 C

How can I ensure consistent color results when reordering Pantone PMS 2277 C paint for multiple projects?

To help achieve consistent color results with Pantone PMS 2277 C on repeat orders, always specify the same product type (such as spray paint or brush-in-cap), sheen, and finish for each order. Use the same Pantone reference or approval method you selected the first time. Even minor changes in format or gloss level can shift how this saturated green appears, especially under different lighting. For the best visual consistency, order enough for your entire project at once if possible, and keep notes about the finish and product specs used so you can reference them for future orders.

What steps do I follow to order paint matched to Pantone PMS 2277 C on MyPerfectColor?

To order Pantone PMS 2277 C paint, find the color page using the code or name. Choose your desired paint format (such as spray paint or paint pen), select the sheen or finish that fits your project needs, enter the required quantity, and review any available options specific to your substrate or use. Double-check your selections before checking out to help ensure you receive the correct product for your application. Accurate choice of format and finish is key for projects where brand consistency and appearance matter.

Why might Pantone PMS 2277 C appear different in various lighting, and how should I evaluate it?

Pantone PMS 2277 C is a highly saturated green that can look noticeably different under different lighting types such as daylight, office light, or LEDs. This shift, called metamerism, means the same painted surface may appear more or less blue, bright, or muted depending on the light source and the gloss level of the paint. For best results, evaluate painted samples of PMS 2277 C in the same lighting conditions and finish as your actual installation to ensure the color delivers the intended visual impact in your space.

What basic surface preparation is needed before applying Pantone PMS 2277 C matched paint?

For reliable results with Pantone PMS 2277 C paint, start by cleaning and degreasing the surface to remove dirt, oils, or residues. Lightly scuff glossy or very smooth surfaces to help the paint adhere, and make sure dust is removed before application. Testing the paint in a small area first is recommended, especially since saturated greens like PMS 2277 C often require more than one coat for full coverage. Following these steps helps promote a uniform, consistent brand color result.

Can I use the Pantone PMS 2277 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
