Pantone™ PMS 2270 C

When using PMS 2270 C for prototypes or concept models, select a paint format that matches how the final branded item will be produced, such as spray paint or a relevant specialty coating. Application on finished, sealed surfaces will show the color as intended. Since PMS 2270 C is highly saturated, its appearance can vary based on surface texture and sheen. For critical brand alignment, test multiple product formats and finishes, assess the result in the planned lighting conditions, and compare directly with an official Pantone standard chip.

For brand approval, order a small amount of PMS 2270 C in the intended product format and sheen. Apply the sample to the actual substrate to be used in the final project. Evaluate the appearance under the installation lighting to confirm color acceptance. Only proceed with a large order after the sample has been approved by all stakeholders, as PMS 2270 C is vivid and sensitive to changes in substrate and lighting.

To maintain consistency across reorders of PMS 2270 C, always use the same paint type, finish, and reference approval process. Since vibrant Pantone colors like PMS 2270 C can vary due to material, gloss, and application, confirm that your initial approved sample serves as a control for future runs. Any changes in substrate, sheen, or application method may shift the color''s appearance. Directly comparing each batch to the approved standard helps minimize unwanted differences.

PMS 2270 C can appear different on plastics or low-energy surfaces due to adhesion and surface preparation. These materials may require specific primers or preparation steps to ensure proper paint adhesion and accurate color display. Before full production runs, test PMS 2270 C on your actual plastic material using all intended primers and finishes. Confirm performance and final color appearance before scaling up.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.

We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
