PMS 2270 C is part of the Pantone PMS collection, known for its standardized, brand-focused color communication. This color presents a distinctly green hue with moderate light reflectance and high chroma. Visually, it is clean, contemporary, and lively, while maintaining a clear technical edge suitable for environments where accurate color rendition is critical.

PMS 2270 C appears as a moderately light, mid-value green (LRV 42.4). The color exhibits a cool tendency, with a strong green hue and minimal yellow or blue bias. PMS 2270 C is highly saturated, resulting in a vivid, clear appearance that stands out in most settings. It maintains a pure, chromatic undertone with no substantial gray or brown influence. The color’s saturation and reflectance can make it sensitive to surface finish; glossy finishes will increase vibrancy, while matte finishes may soften its effect.

PMS 2270 C is frequently specified in brand displays, retail fixtures, and environmental graphics where a consistent, recognizable green is required for brand communication. The color is often used for exhibit components, marketing event props, and branded signage that demand high color fidelity.

PMS 2270 C is effective when visual impact and brand alignment are primary objectives. Use this color in situations where controlled lighting and surface preparation can ensure appearance fidelity, as the high chroma increases sensitivity to substrate and finish. Avoid application on unsealed or highly textured surfaces, as these can alter perceived saturation and uniformity compared to other mid-tone greens.

Similar colors:

PMS 347 C: A comparable green that is lighter and slightly more neutral, resulting in less chromatic intensity.

PMS 355 C: Shares a vivid green appearance but registers as somewhat warmer and brighter.

PMS 7737 C: A similar green but slightly darker and more muted, with less visual impact in brand applications.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 2270 C

How should I approach using Pantone PMS 2270 C for prototypes and concept models to ensure visual brand accuracy?

When using PMS 2270 C for prototypes or concept models, select a paint format that matches how the final branded item will be produced, such as spray paint or a relevant specialty coating. Application on finished, sealed surfaces will show the color as intended. Since PMS 2270 C is highly saturated, its appearance can vary based on surface texture and sheen. For critical brand alignment, test multiple product formats and finishes, assess the result in the planned lighting conditions, and compare directly with an official Pantone standard chip.

What is the best way to use samples of PMS 2270 C for brand approval workflows?

For brand approval, order a small amount of PMS 2270 C in the intended product format and sheen. Apply the sample to the actual substrate to be used in the final project. Evaluate the appearance under the installation lighting to confirm color acceptance. Only proceed with a large order after the sample has been approved by all stakeholders, as PMS 2270 C is vivid and sensitive to changes in substrate and lighting.

How consistent can I expect PMS 2270 C to be if I reorder it for later projects?

To maintain consistency across reorders of PMS 2270 C, always use the same paint type, finish, and reference approval process. Since vibrant Pantone colors like PMS 2270 C can vary due to material, gloss, and application, confirm that your initial approved sample serves as a control for future runs. Any changes in substrate, sheen, or application method may shift the color''s appearance. Directly comparing each batch to the approved standard helps minimize unwanted differences.

Are there any special considerations when applying PMS 2270 C to plastic or low-energy surfaces?

PMS 2270 C can appear different on plastics or low-energy surfaces due to adhesion and surface preparation. These materials may require specific primers or preparation steps to ensure proper paint adhesion and accurate color display. Before full production runs, test PMS 2270 C on your actual plastic material using all intended primers and finishes. Confirm performance and final color appearance before scaling up.

Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. Can I use the Pantone PMS 2270 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 2270 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information.
