Pantone™ PMS 354 C

When planning to use PMS 354 C in a pop-up or retail installation, always evaluate color samples on the actual materials and in the lighting that will be used in the final space. Because PMS 354 C is highly saturated and sensitive to finish, its appearance can shift under different lighting conditions and between matte or gloss surfaces. For large or high-visibility projects, sampling the color with real paint in your intended finish is critical to ensure brand consistency and avoid surprises. Confirm durability and cleaning requirements for your environment and select a paint format that matches those needs. PMS 354 C may need multiple coats for even coverage, especially over light or contrasting substrates.

A standard spray can of PMS 354 C typically covers about 20 to 25 square feet per coat on smooth, non-porous surfaces. Actual coverage depends on the application method, surface texture, and color of the substrate. Because PMS 354 C is a vivid, highly saturated green, expect to need two or more coats for uniform color, especially over light backgrounds. Calculate your project's total square footage, multiply by the number of coats needed, and divide by the per-can coverage to estimate the required quantity. Sampling on your material first is recommended to validate coverage in your specific use case.

PMS 354 C may appear differently across various substrates such as plastics, metals, or wood due to differences in absorption, surface texture, and reflectivity. For example, a matte wood surface may absorb more paint and yield a softer appearance, while smooth metal or plastic can make the color look more vivid or glossy. These material effects can influence not only the perceived hue but also brightness and saturation. For brand-critical applications, always test PMS 354 C on the actual material and finish you will use, under your installation's lighting, to confirm the final appearance meets expectations.

For PMS 354 C, select an interior-grade paint when applications are protected from weather and direct sunlight, such as in retail displays or exhibit spaces. For outdoor or exposed areas, opt for an exterior-grade paint to ensure durability against UV, moisture, and environmental wear. The paint type must align with the project's environmental demands to maintain color consistency and longevity. If in doubt, share your project details with your supplier to confirm the recommended format for either interior or exterior use.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
