PMS 2255 C is part of the Pantone PMS collection, designed for brand and identity accuracy across diverse media. The color appears as a clean, energetic, moderately saturated green with a fresh and assertive vibe. The overall impression is contemporary, lively, and noticeable without excessive intensity.

PMS 2255 C presents as a medium-light color, with a moderate luminance (LRV 53.33). The color has a distinctly cool, green character leaning toward the blue side of the spectrum. It exhibits moderate to high chroma, contributing to its crisp and saturated appearance. PMS 2255 C shows minimal visible undertone beyond its green-blue axis, avoiding significant yellow or muted effects. This color’s appearance can be sensitive to finish; higher gloss can intensify its saturation, while matte finishes subdue the vibrancy.

PMS 2255 C works well where a prominent, modern green is needed for brand differentiation or wayfinding, especially in marketing environments and display fabrication. It is recommended to preview this color under intended lighting and finish conditions, as shifts in gloss or ambient light may affect the perceived saturation and temperature. Compared to other greens, PMS 2255 C maintains greater chromatic purity, so it can appear fresher or cooler next to standard greens, and will read less yellow or muted in most applications.

Pantone colors are often specified for brand standards, signage, displays, and prototypes that require consistent color representation across materials. They are chosen to ensure vivid and reliable brand color impact in marketing, retail, and promotional environments.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 2255 C

What safety precautions should I follow when using PMS 2255 C paint products?

When using PMS 2255 C paint in any format, always follow the safety instructions provided with your chosen product. Requirements for ventilation, personal protective equipment, and safe handling can vary depending on the product type such as spray paint, epoxy, or urethane. To make safe decisions, review the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for your specific paint and follow all recommended practices. Ensure workspaces are well ventilated and keep flammable products away from ignition sources. If you have questions about product safety or VOC content, consult the product documentation or contact the supplier before ordering.

Do I need a primer before applying Pantone PMS 2255 C paint?

Whether you need a primer before applying Pantone PMS 2255 C depends on the substrate, the chosen paint type, and the conditions the paint will face. Primers are typically recommended for bare, porous, or previously uncoated surfaces, or when switching between very different colors. Highly saturated colors like PMS 2255 C may also need a suitable primer for optimal appearance and coverage. Review the specific product instructions or reach out for primer compatibility guidance to ensure the best adhesion and finish.

Is PMS 2255 C suitable for concept models or prototypes where brand color accuracy is important?

PMS 2255 C is a strong choice for prototypes and concept models that require accurate visual brand alignment. Ordering PMS 2255 C paint in spray, brush-in-cap, or other available formats allows designers and fabricators to quickly evaluate brand color impact before final production. For critical review, test the paint on the intended material and lighting environment to confirm color accuracy and finish appearance, as these factors can affect the perception of PMS 2255 C.

When is it correct to specify Pantone PMS 2255 C as a standard match for a project?

Pantone PMS 2255 C is appropriate as a standard match when your project goal is to create a visually consistent branded appearance across displays, signage, exhibit components, or prototypes. If your brand standards specify PMS 2255 C as the target, ordering a standard match is recommended for most marketing and display applications. For high-visibility permanent installations or multi-material applications, evaluate physical samples if formal brand approval is required.

Can I use the Pantone PMS 2255 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

How much area will one spray can cover? And what is Pantone PMS 2255 C spray paint made of?

How do I convert PMS 2255 C to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 2255 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
