PMS 2261 C is a Pantone PMS system color characterized by a balanced medium green hue with a slightly cool and fresh undertone. With an LRV of 44.45, it offers moderate brightness, making it practical for both foreground and background applications. The vibe of this color is clean, current, assertive, and visually clear, supporting professional brand communication and product differentiation. This color is used within brand, marketing, and display environments where consistent color identity is essential.

PMS 2261 C appears as a medium-value green, with lightness that registers as neither pale nor especially deep. The color presents a notably cool green tendency, favoring blue undertones over yellow. PMS 2261 C shows moderate to strong chroma, resulting in a color that is vibrant but not excessively saturated. This color features a crisp, clean undertone that maintains clarity under varied lighting. The appearance of PMS 2261 C is moderately sensitive to finish, with higher-gloss finishes increasing perceived vibrancy.

PMS 2261 C is most effective when used for branded elements that require a contemporary, energetic feel without being overpoweringly bright. Performance is optimal in neutral to cool lighting; under warmer lighting, the cool undertone may be slightly subdued. It is important to evaluate the color with actual paint samples and Pantone references in the intended finish and lighting, as both factors influence perceived saturation and brightness. Compared to similar greens, PMS 2261 C maintains higher coolness and visual clarity, which may set it apart in brand and marketing contexts.

Similar colors:
PMS 2262 C — Has a lighter appearance and is slightly less saturated, resulting in a softer effect.

PMS 2260 C — Is darker and more muted, providing a deeper, more subdued green.

PMS 7481 C — Is warmer, with more yellow influence, shifting away from the crisp coolness of PMS 2261 C.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 2261 C

What is the best way to compare paint samples of PMS 2261 C for approval to ensure consistency?

To accurately compare paint samples of PMS 2261 C for approval, view all samples in the intended lighting conditions and on the same substrate wherever possible. Make sure all coatings are fully dry and, when relevant, cured before final judgment, as wet or partially dry paint can appear different. For brand applications, always compare against a Pantone reference guide with the specified finish. Consistency in method supports reliable brand color decisions.

How much surface will one spray can of PMS 2261 C cover, and how do I estimate quantity for my project?

One spray can of PMS 2261 C typically covers about 20 to 25 square feet with one light coat on a smooth, primed surface. Actual coverage varies based on application method, surface texture, porosity, and the number of coats needed for uniform color. Since bright and saturated greens can have lower hide, plan for at least two coats for best coverage. Always calculate your total area, increase for texture or absorbency, and round up to ensure full coverage with consistent results.

Why is it important to specify a Pantone code like PMS 2261 C when creating branded environments and displays?

Specifying a Pantone code such as PMS 2261 C provides a standardized color target that helps ensure brand consistency across displays, signage, prototypes, and marketing environments. Pantone PMS colors serve as a universal reference that enables vendors and fabricators to reproduce your exact brand color, supporting a cohesive and recognizable brand experience. Always use the PMS code to communicate color requirements for projects where visual identity is critical.

Can I return PMS 2261 C paint if the color or finish does not match my expectations?

PMS 2261 C paint is custom mixed to match the Pantone reference, so it is made to order for each purchase. For this reason, returns are generally not possible. Carefully review your product type, sheen, and finish selection before ordering, and consider requesting a sample if you need to evaluate color and appearance under actual conditions. Planning ahead will help ensure your project achieves the intended brand result.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 2261 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 2261 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. Can I use the Pantone PMS 2261 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
