PMS 2239 C is a Pantone Matching System (PMS) color, recognized for its role in ensuring visual consistency across branded environments, displays, and fabricated components. The color is perceived as clean, contemporary, technical, and moderately vibrant, tending toward a balanced and unobtrusive presentation suitable for both functional and visual communications in professional settings.

- PMS 2239 C appears as a mid-lightness color (LRV 47.92), providing moderate brightness without overpowering. - The color has a cool undertone, falling into an aqua-blue hue family. - Saturation is moderate to high, but not extreme, lending the color noticeable chroma appropriate for branding without excessive intensity. - PMS 2239 C exhibits a subtle greenish-blue undertone, typical for colors near the 178° hue angle. - This color is moderately sensitive to finish; a glossier finish will elevate its saturation and visual impact, while matte finishes may subdue the vibrancy. - The color maintains its character under a variety of lighting conditions but may shift slightly cooler under daylight-balanced illumination.

PMS 2239 C works well when a balanced, contemporary aqua is needed for brand-connected projects, prototype displays, or exhibit elements that must align to PMS color specifications. Ensure viewing and approval occur under the same type of lighting as the final installation, as subtle coolness can be accentuated by certain light sources. Surface preparation is important for evenness, especially where a consistent finish and depth are visually critical. This shade is less stark than lighter aquas and less saturated than more chromatic options, supporting both visibility and subtlety.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 2239 C

What should I know about coverage and hide when ordering Pantone PMS 2239 C paint for brand displays?

Pantone PMS 2239 C is a moderately saturated, cool aqua. When using this color for brand-facing displays or prototypes, be aware that colors in this range may require more coats for even coverage than standard or less chromatic hues. Achieving uniform appearance may be easier with a properly prepared, primed surface and by planning for at least one extra coat, especially over contrasting backgrounds or absorbent substrates. Using a primer tinted close to PMS 2239 C can help improve coverage and reduce the number of coats needed. Testing application technique and coverage on a small area is recommended to ensure visually consistent results.

Where can I find the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for paint made to Pantone PMS 2239 C?

The Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for PMS 2239 C paint is determined by the type of paint or coating you choose, not by the Pantone color code itself. To obtain the correct SDS, select your desired product format (such as spray paint or paint pen) and access the SDS library or request it from the supplier for that specific product. The SDS will describe health, safety, and handling details for the paint base used to make your PMS 2239 C color.

How is Pantone PMS 2239 C used to support consistent brand experiences?

Pantone PMS 2239 C serves as a standardized target for reproducing a specific brand color across displays, signage, prototypes, and marketing environments. By specifying PMS 2239 C in your project, you help ensure all vendors and fabricators align to the same visual standard, promoting brand consistency wherever the color appears. This approach supports recognition and maintains the intended impact of your visual identity, even when using different paint types or substrates.

If I need to closely match Pantone PMS 2239 C for an existing item, should I order the PMS 2239 C paint or send a physical part?

If your goal is to reproduce brand color for new displays, signage, or prototypes, selecting a standard PMS 2239 C match is correct. However, if you require the closest possible match for an existing item with its own finish and history, sending a physical part for custom matching is best. Pantone PMS color matches are intended for brand reproduction use cases, not for precise alignment with aged, faded, or multi-layered coatings. Sending a part helps ensure alignment for critical visual projects where substrate-specific appearance is important.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 2239 C?

Can I use the Pantone PMS 2239 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

How do I convert PMS 2239 C to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 2239 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
