PMS 7484 C is a standardized color from the Pantone Matching System collection. It appears as a dark blue-green with notable depth and saturation, presenting a cool, professional, and technical vibe. This color is typically used where a strong yet non-primary color statement is required for brand-aligned visual impact.

PMS 7484 C appears dark in most lighting conditions (LRV 7.09 indicates low reflectance and high visual weight). The color shows a distinctly cool tendency due to its blue-green hue. It maintains a high saturation level, which contributes to its intensity and clarity. The undertone is a balanced green with a noticeable blue influence, producing a sophisticated teal effect. This color demonstrates moderate finish sensitivity—glossy finishes may intensify its depth, while matte finishes can slightly mute its vibrancy and perceived saturation.

PMS 7484 C works well in brand and marketing scenarios where a bold, contemporary color accent is required without using a pure blue or green. Consider lighting direction and finishing options: under direct, cool lighting, the color’s blue tones will be more pronounced, while warmer light can dull its vibrancy. Surface preparation is important, as highly saturated dark colors may show application defects more readily. Compared to similar hues, PMS 7484 C generally appears deeper, cooler, and more saturated, offering a crisp and professional appearance for branded installations.

Similar colors:
PMS 3295 C: This color is similar but appears slightly lighter and more green, resulting in less visual weight.

PMS 7717 C: Leans warmer and less blue, producing a greener, less technical appearance.

PMS 3155 C: Is lighter and displays more blue than green, resulting in a brighter, clearer teal.

PMS 7724 C: Is comparable in depth but is less saturated and visually more muted.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 7484 C

Why does licensed reproduction matter when ordering PMS 7484 C paint?

PMS 7484 C is a standardized color within the Pantone Matching System, and licensed reproduction ensures you receive paint that aligns as closely as possible with the authentic Pantone reference standard. MyPerfectColor is authorized to produce Pantone PMS colors, so choosing licensed sources helps maintain the accuracy and brand consistency required for marketing, display, and brand environments. Licensing also means colors are formulated and verified against official standards rather than imitations or guesses.

Do I need to use a primer before applying PMS 7484 C paint?

Whether you need a primer for PMS 7484 C depends on the paint type you choose, the surface you are coating, and the environment where it will be used. Primers are usually recommended for bare substrates, hard-to-adhere surfaces, or when strong and uniform color coverage is critical. Because PMS 7484 C is a dark, saturated color, priming may also help achieve better vibrancy and hide, reducing the chance of uneven appearance. Check the product and substrate guidance for your specific project before starting.

How do I ensure consistency when I reorder PMS 7484 C paint for future projects?

For the most consistent results with PMS 7484 C across multiple orders, use the same product type and finish each time, and reference the same Pantone standard for approval. Differences in sheen, substrate, or paint technology can change perceived color. If exact appearance is critical for your brand-facing project, approve samples before large orders and keep written documentation of your reference for future runs.

What is the typical lead time for PMS 7484 C paint orders?

PMS 7484 C paint is made to order to ensure color accuracy. Standard lead time depends on the paint format and current production volume. Generally, allow extra time when planning projects with firm deadlines, and confirm specific production and shipping times at the time of your order for accurate scheduling.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 7484 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 7484 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. We do our best to make sure you get your paint on time. Learn more about paint lead times at MyPerfectColor.
Can I use the Pantone PMS 7484 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
