PMS 7476 C is a recognized member of the Pantone PMS (Pantone Matching System) collection. This color presents as a dark, rich blue-green, and is commonly described in professional color standards as striking, technical, and assertive, with a modern and confident appearance that is neither subdued nor aggressively primary.

PMS 7476 C appears distinctly dark due to its low Light Reflectance Value (LRV 6.24). The color exhibits a cool temperature bias, leaning more toward blue than green. PMS 7476 C maintains a high level of chroma, resulting in noticeable saturation without drifting into neon territory. The undertone is complex, combining deep blue with subtle green; this can cause the color to appear more teal under certain light sources. This color can show sensitivity to finish; a gloss finish enhances vibrancy and depth, while matte or flat finishes may subdue its saturation.

PMS 7476 C works well for projects requiring a saturated, high-impact blue-green with a commanding presence, especially where consistent brand color reproduction is necessary. It is especially noticeable on smooth surfaces in controlled lighting. Because of its low LRV, it can appear nearly black in dim conditions, and lighting will disproportionately affect its blue or green bias. Deep, saturated colors like this may require additional coats for complete coverage, particularly over light substrates. For color-sensitive applications, always reference a physical Pantone standard and test paint samples on the intended substrate and in context lighting prior to approval or rollout.

Similar colors:
PMS 3155 C: Slightly lighter and less saturated, with a more prominent green cast.

PMS 3035 C: Darker and bluer, with less visible green influence.

PMS 7474 C: Brighter and more turquoise, resulting in a higher apparent chroma and lighter visual weight.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 7476 C

How does surface texture affect how Pantone PMS 7476 C looks when applied to different materials?

The appearance of Pantone PMS 7476 C can change significantly based on the texture of the surface it is applied to. A glossy, smooth finish tends to enhance the color's vibrancy and depth, making the deep blue-green appear richer and more saturated. On textured or matte surfaces, PMS 7476 C may look slightly lighter, less intense, or even more muted due to the way light is scattered and shadowed by the surface. For brand work where exact color appearance is critical, it is important to test PMS 7476 C on the actual substrate and finish that will be used in production to confirm visual results under real lighting conditions.

What is the typical lead time for ordering custom paint matched to Pantone PMS 7476 C?

Paint matched to Pantone PMS 7476 C is made to order to ensure accurate color targeting. Typical production lead times depend on the specific product type, quantity, and current production volume, but most orders ship within a few business days. Large or specialized orders may take longer. If you have a strict timeline for your marketing or fabrication schedule, we recommend confirming expected lead time for your format before placing your order.

How can I maintain color consistency for repeat orders of Pantone PMS 7476 C paint?

To achieve consistent results when reordering Pantone PMS 7476 C, always use the same product type and sheen, and review results against the same physical Pantone target. Changing formats, finishes, or reference samples can introduce visible differences, especially with saturated colors like PMS 7476 C. For critical or multi-phase projects, consider ordering enough paint for the complete run, or approve a sample panel from the new batch before proceeding with large-scale applications.

What should I consider when applying Pantone PMS 7476 C to plastics or low energy surfaces?

Plastics and low-surface-energy materials can be challenging when applying Pantone PMS 7476 C because standard paints may not adhere well without special preparation. Many plastics require an appropriate primer or adhesion promoter to achieve a reliable result. Since plastics vary widely, it is essential to test the complete coating system on the specific plastic and under real project conditions before full production with PMS 7476 C.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 7476 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 7476 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. We do our best to make sure you get your paint on time. Learn more about paint lead times at MyPerfectColor.
Can I use the Pantone PMS 7476 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
