PMS 7445 C is part of the Pantone PMS system, a globally recognized color-matching standard. This color presents a subdued appearance with a balance of blue-violet and grey, demonstrating a cool, technical, and reserved vibe. With an LRV of 37.97, it sits at a medium-dark lightness level, supporting visual impact while resisting harsh brightness. PMS 7445 C is practical in environments where restraint and refinement are prioritized.

- PMS 7445 C appears medium-dark based on its LRV of 37.97. - The color has a cool overall tone, with a distinct blue-violet base tempered by grey. - PMS 7445 C demonstrates moderate saturation—noticeable color presence without high intensity. - The undertone is explicitly violety but softened by neutral grey, resulting in a technically professional impression. - The color’s appearance can shift with glossy or matte finishes, with higher gloss making the violet undertone more apparent.

PMS 7445 C is often referenced in specifications for identity and wayfinding systems seeking a modern and understated palette.

PMS 7445 C is effective where a non-intrusive but identifiable accent or base is desired, particularly in branded displays, architectural signage, and environments demanding subdued sophistication. When specifying this color, review surface preparation and lighting: cool LED or daylight environments make the blue-grey character more pronounced, while warm light dulls the violet nuance. In comparison to neighboring colors, PMS 7445 C holds its chromatic edge without overwhelming vibrance, maintaining clarity in layered palettes.

Similar colors:
PMS 7446 C: Cooler and more saturated, resulting in a stronger blue-violet appearance.

PMS 7447 C: Deeper and darker, with a heavier, more muted violet presence.

PMS 7658 C: Warmer and more red-toned, moving toward a plum character.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 7445 C

How do I make sure I am ordering the right color when I need Pantone PMS 7445 C?

To ensure you receive the correct color, always reference both the Pantone PMS code and the suffix when ordering, such as 'PMS 7445 C.' The code uniquely identifies the exact color target, while the suffix (like 'C' for coated) points to a specific variation. Relying only on the name without the full code or skipping the suffix can lead to confusion or an incorrect product, as Pantone color names may sound similar or change across systems. Double-check all branding and specification documents for the exact code and suffix before placing your order.

What should I consider about coverage and undercoats when using PMS 7445 C paint?

PMS 7445 C has a moderate saturation with a medium-dark appearance, which may require multiple coats to achieve even coverage, especially over contrasting or patchy surfaces. For best results, start with a uniform, neutral gray undercoat to support color consistency and reduce the number of finish coats needed. Planning for at least two finish coats is recommended to help achieve a uniform brand result without visible streaks or surface show-through.

What does it mean to order PMS 7445 C paint as a Pantone PMS match?

Ordering PMS 7445 C as a Pantone PMS match means you are requesting a paint color that visually targets the standardized appearance of Pantone PMS 7445 C. This is based on a visual color reference, not a specific paint formula, manufacturing process, or finish type defined by Pantone. The goal is accurate visual alignment for branding or display applications, but some variation can occur across materials, finishes, and lighting. If you have strict requirements, test a sample under project-specific conditions before full use.

How can I maintain a uniform look with PMS 7445 C paint on large brand displays?

For large areas using PMS 7445 C, use a consistent application method throughout the project and maintain even surface preparation. Mix all paint together before starting if using multiple cans to avoid batch variation. Apply all coats in the same direction and lighting conditions when possible. Planning for an extra coat can help prevent patchiness, especially over textured or uneven substrates. Review results between coats to catch inconsistencies early and ensure visual consistency for brand-critical work.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 7445 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 7445 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Can I use the Pantone PMS 7445 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
