Pantone™ PMS 7446 C

PMS 7446 C is specified as a brand color reference within the Pantone Matching System, which identifies the target shade only. Pantone codes do not define gloss, substrate, or base formulation. Using PMS 7446 C as a touch-up reference on pre-painted products or architectural elements often results in visible differences because the original finish, sheen, and substrate can alter how the color looks. For consistent brand displays or new builds, PMS 7446 C helps achieve visual alignment, but it is not a reliable standard for blending into existing surfaces. For visible repairs or continuity, test a sample first and do not assume a Pantone match will blend with legacy finishes.

A typical 11 ounce spray can of PMS 7446 C covers about 15 to 20 square feet per coat, depending on how it is applied, surface roughness, and the number of coats needed. Because PMS 7446 C is highly saturated, you may need additional coats to achieve full opacity, especially over contrasting or unprimed substrates. To estimate quantity, calculate the total square footage and multiply by the expected number of coats. Consider ordering extra if your project needs consistent color build and coverage on highly visible brand surfaces.

PMS 7446 C is intended for visually accurate prototype and concept model work where alignment with brand standards is critical. Select a paint format that matches your model material and display context, such as spray paint for even coverage or paint pens for detailed elements. Evaluate PMS 7446 C under the lighting conditions expected for final display, as color can appear different under varying light or on different substrates. Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
